#This&That&TheOtherThing – #Update

THIS

Happy Tewe’s Day, Everybody! Hope your week got off to a good start yesterday and your day is off to another of those today! It’s been pretty quiet around here for too long, so I thought I’d better stop by to say hello, and to let you guys know I’m still alive. Just busy, busy, busy with all sorts of things Life threw my way all at one time.

THAT

Saturday’s talk on the American Alligator went great, and I had a lot of fun with a super nice audience. (Definition of Super Nice: They laughed at all of my jokes and oohed and aaahed in all the right places!)

BTW, I felt great on Saturday from the moment I got up until … well, actually, I’m still feeling pretty good today. Crossing my fingers that means it might be a good while before I have another bad day from you-know-what. Maybe even that it’s over! We’ll see how it goes.

THE OTHER THING

In the meantime, changing insurance and getting set up with all new doctors is keeping me on the go, so it will be slow here on the blog for the rest of this week. I’ll stop by when I can, though, and Granny will definitely be visiting on Friday. Hopefully life will calm down a bit by next week, and things will get back to normal.  I do have another talk next Saturday–don’t ask me how I managed to schedule them for back to back weekends, DOH!– but I’m almost ready for that one. What do you think? Look interesting?

And that’s pretty much where things are for now. I’m off to TWO different, fun-filled medical things today: Some imaging over at the local Radiology clinic, and a quick trip to my new primary care doctor with some paperwork to deliver. Easy-Peasy!

Will check in with you guys later, and hopefully have a few minutes somewhere to stop by a few of my favorite blogs. Yes, I know my Sunday #Twofer fell by the wayside this week, and I apologize for that, but I’m still aiming to get it posted somewhere. Maybe we’ll have a “FOUR-fer” this coming Sunday! That could work. Probably. 😁

And that’s it for my update.
Here’s to a great rest of the week for ALL of us!
As you were, folks, and enjoy this day to the fullest!

    • Thanks so much, Jeanne, and I wish you were able to come to my talks, too. I’ve always thought it would be such fun to see some of my blogging friends show up! Maybe one day! 😀 ❤

    • Thanks, Denise! So far, so good. Just taking a bit of time to sort things out. Two of the first referrals I got back were for doctors with offices over 30 miles from me! I don’t like driving more than 5 to 10 miles anywhere these days, and certainly don’t want a doctor located that far away. But they sorted that out for me with one quick phone call. Now everyone is within 2 to 3 miles from me, and I’m super happy about that. Just takes time to set up appointments for that first visit with each one. But it’s working out! 😀 ❤

  1. I’m not at all surprised that the audience loved your talk, and I am delighted that you’re still feeling good after what must have been a full-on day. It’s all looking really promising and once these other essential bits and pieces are completed, you can tick them off and begin to find that breathing space to do what you want to do – instead of what you have to do. ❤ ❤ ❤

    • You’ve sussed out my clever plan, Trish! 😁 I was plenty tired on Sunday, but I always am after a talk. It’s an all-day project, even without a two-hour program, so I come home beat, and recover the next day. But I didn’t feel any “unusual” fatigue, and I’m still doing fine today too, so far. Yay!! And I was really happy with the talk and the great audience I had. They were wonderful to talk to! 😀

Thanks for stopping by today, and I’ll keep trying to get caught up and back to business as usual around here! 😀 ❤

    • I’m actually going to consider Saturday as time off for good behavior. I had such a good time seeing everyone again and sharing some fun and interesting stuff about gators, and why they are NOT the same thing as crocodiles, etc. So, that was a lovely break. But I spent this afternoon at various medical facilities, getting things going again under my new insurance, etc. That was less fun, but I was super happy I still felt well enough to tackle it. Now if I can continue to feel well longer than the last 4 days, it will be fantastic! I could actually make a lot of progress if I didn’t get waylaid over and over. We’ll see how it goes! And thanks for wishing me luck. 😀 ❤

    • I’m glad you enjoyed seeing them, Priscilla. They really are gorgeous creatures, aren’t they? And I’m going to enjoy talking about them and sharing even more beautiful images this coming Saturday. (I should have given myself a weekend off first, but after this program, I don’t have another scheduled until October 22, so it’ll all work out.

In case you don’t know, that’s a great horned owl on the left, a barn owl in the middle, and a barred owl on the right. The other two species native to Florida are the screech owl and the burrowing owl. ALL are interesting and beautiful to watch.

Thanks for stopping by today! 😀 ❤

    • Owls are fantastic, and as far as I know, every state has them, though the species differ from one part of the country to another. Not sure what they have in your area. And no, I don’t get to bring owls to my talks, but only because I haven’t yet met one that’s interested in joining me. Now when I was a docent at the central Florida zoo, I did get a chance to do a talk or two with one of the animals I used to take on strolls through the zoo. But my animals of choice were either a 5′ long ball python or a 6′ long indigo snake. I even had my indigo snake sleep over at my house once, so I could take him to an early talk. But I lost that privilege when I had to stop volunteering at the zoo and got a “real job.” 😁

Nowadays, I just find the most beautiful or interesting images I can, and then research like crazy for interesting, little-known, or amusing facts and tidbits to share with my audience. Owls are always a hit. How could they NOT be, with that grace and beauty going for them?

Thanks for stopping by, Sue! Glad you enjoyed seeing these guys! 😀 ❤

    • The C word was bad enough, for sure, Debby, even though my breakthrough cases were mild ones. But the LC word is driving me crazy. Fine one day, falling apart the next, with no rhyme or reason at all. It makes it very hard to plan things … like wildlife presentations! But at least it’s not contagious, and it really SHOULD be winding down over the weeks ahead. Can’t WAIT!

Thanks for dropping by! 😀 ❤
