#BlatantSelfPromotion – #ThatDarkestPlace – #NewReview

This seems to be the season for That Darkest Place to be front and center. Another new (and fantastic) review, this time from D. L. Finn, has made my day once more! Since I’ve nothing scheduled on TWS today, figured I might as well shout it from the rooftops. Or at least share it here on the blog, so you can see why I was doing the happy dance when I read this one. (Thank you, Denise. So glad you enjoyed it!)

BLURB:

“There are dark places in every heart, in every head. Some you turn away from. Some you light a candle within. But there is one place so black, it consumes all light. It will pull you in and swallow you whole. You don’t leave your brother stranded in that darkest place.”
~Hunter Painter~

The new year is a chance for new beginnings—usually hopeful, positive ones. But when Jackson Painter plows his car into a tree shortly after midnight on January 1, his new beginnings are tragic. His brothers, Forrest and Hunter, take up a grim bedside vigil at the hospital, waiting for Jackson to regain consciousness and anxious over how he’ll take the news that he’s lost a leg and his fiancée is dead. After all, the accident was all his fault.

As the shocking truth emerges, one thing becomes obvious—Jackson will need unconditional love and support from both of his brothers if he is to survive.

Just as he begins the long road to recovery, danger, in the form of a sinister, unsigned note, plunges him back into bleak despair. Scrawled in blood red letters, the accusation—and the threat—is clear. “MURDERER!”

Will the long, harrowing ordeal that lies ahead draw the Painter brothers closer together, or drive them apart forever?

Suspenseful and often heartbreaking, this small-town tale is a testimonial to the redemptive power of love and paints a story filled with humor, romance, and fierce family loyalty.

    • I agree that Denise is great at reviews, and I’m so pleased to have earned one for TDP. But I suspect you can write them, too, Michael. They don’t have to be fancy. Just tell folks you really liked the book, in your own words, and the authors will be grateful, I’m sure. And thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

    • Thanks, Yvette, and yes, they really should be read in order, as you won’t understand the developing issues with the brothers, otherwise. The first book is pretty much romantic suspense, but the other two deal with all sorts of dysfunctional family dynamics and other dangers. Hope you’ll enjoy the whole series if you find time to read them. And thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

    • Thanks, Sharon. I was very happy to see it. I haven’t done much promotion and practically zero marketing, so I’m extra happy to have something like this to share. I don’t do it very often on here, but now and then, I can’t resist. Thanks so much for stopping by! 😀 ❤

    • It sure does, Darlene! I’ve gotten some wonderful reviews on this book, every one of which I’ve loved and appreciated, but this one happened along at a time when I really needed a lift! So glad to share it! 😀 ❤

  1. Congratulations, dear Marcia. I’ll be reading The Darkest Place this coming weekend, and I’m excited to do so. I loved Denise’s review and am so so happy for you. 🤗

    • Aw, thanks, Gwen. I can’t wait to see what you think. Hope you enjoy it, too, and that you remember the Painter brothers for a long, long time! They were a joy to write about, even though (starting with Finding Hunter) they took my so-called Romantic Suspense series in a very different direction. Denise’s review came along on a day when I REALLY needed something to make me smile, and it sure did that! Thanks so much for stopping by! 😀 ❤

    • I always feel a little weird doing self-promotion like this, but honestly Joan, TDP hasn’t gotten as much attention as I wanted it to (almost totally my own fault for falling down on the marketing front) so a new review is an especially wonderful thing! And don’t think I’ve forgotten the terrific one you left, either! Every review so far has been great … nary a bad one in the bunch … but boy was this one ever needed right now! I’m still smiling, here!

Thanks so much for stopping by! 😀 ❤

    • That makes me so happy, Mae! You know these Painter brothers are very dear to my heart, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the book and the series! And thanks for the reviews you left on them, too. I’m looking into ways to do some serious marketing VERY soon, so more people can find out about the books and can let me know what they think, too. (Hopefully good stuff!)

Thanks for stopping by today, my Penderpal! I appreciate it hugely!! 😀 ❤

    • Thanks, Priscilla. The book has garnered some really great reviews and (so far) no negative ones, but it’s been a slower process than usual, so finding new ones is a real treat! So happy Denise enjoyed it, and thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

    • Oh, it definitely made my day, Denise, and I appreciate it so much. As I mentioned above, the book has gotten some very good reviews and no negative ones as of yet, but it’s been a slower process than some of my others, and I really, REALLY was happy to find another, especially one as nice as yours. I just had to pass it on! Thank you again for sharing it! 😀 ❤

    • Thanks, Miriam. I’ve been very pleased with every review That Darkest Place has gotten, for sure, but I’m so happy to see two new ones recently. Diana’s review in March was a real treat, and finding this one from Denise just made my day! Hope you get a chance to check out the series soon, as I’ll be interested in your thoughts, too. And thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

  2. I loved this book, too, and Denise has done you proud! Hunter stole my heart in the first one and then my love for the Painter brothers and their partners just grew stronger and stronger! ❤

    • Awww, thanks so much, Trish! Hunter ties with Rabbit as my favorite character so far, but I have to admit, by the time I finished That Darkest Place, Forrest had really come into his own, and I was thoroughly enjoying his story, too. All three of these brothers are like family to me, now, and yep, Denise really had me doing a happy dance! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a moment to say hi.

    • Thanks, Craig, and I agree. That Darkest Place has gotten nothing but good reviews, but they’ve been coming in a lot slower lately, and finding this one from Denise and the one from Diana in March just made me SO happy! There was no way for me not to pass it along, even though I don’t usually do that. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to say hello! 😀

    • Same here, Jan. I have some of yours, too!! WHEN will we ever find time to catch up on our reading? I seem to tall farther behind every single week. But thanks so much for your congratulations on this super review from Denise. I was truly happy, as you can probably tell! 😀 ❤
