An Update on #TheWriteStuff

Wanted to start the week off with an update for you guys, especially for new followers who don’t know that I used to run regular weekly or monthly features here on The Write Stuff. Most of you do know that I’ve been generally whining, and grumbling, and otherwise making a nuisance of myself about being so far behind on everything I’m trying to do. Well, it’s time for that to STOP!

No, I haven’t magically caught up with everything overnight, but the good news is, I’m making slow, steady progress, knock wood! And I am ready to start reintroducing the features we used to enjoy around here. It might take me a few weeks to get all of them “up and running,” but you can expect to see the following things coming back on board–and some of them will probably start this week, alongside a few that never totally went away.

  • #MondayMeme – Memes with a writing/reading/books theme
  • #Thorsday Smile – Things I think are funny & hope you’ll enjoy
  • #WhyWriteWrong? – Words I see misused fairly often
  • #ShareAReviewDay – Recent/favorite reviews submitted by you guys
  • #ExcerptWeek – A week of sharing excerpts from your book of choice
  • #FabulousFridayGuestBlogger – Self-explanatory
  • #LifeLessonsFromOz – Vids I share for a smile (and perhaps a lesson?)
  • #MidWeekPOV – Just some things/ideas I share now and then
  • #InspirationBoardSunday – Images/Ideas/CoverArt I find inspiring

Some of these are meant to be weekly features, though it might take me a couple weeks to get them up and running. Some are posted randomly as the mood or subject matter strikes my fancy. But ALL are coming back over the next couple of months. And many of them involve you wonderful bloggers and authors “out there.” You’ll be invited when these come up, and I’ll explain how to participate in them at that time.

Hope you’ll enjoy having these features back again, and will want to take part in some of them. I know many of you would probably love to share your reviews and excerpts with us, and your latest promo news, releases, cover reveals, etc, as well. And I’m really looking forward to helping you do just that.

To begin, I’ll be posting some archived samples of these features over the next week or two, so you see what they’re all about, and will feel comfortable joining in.

Stay tuned, my wonderful friends! I can hardly wait to get the ball rolling!

    • Thanks, Chris! And about TIME, I’d say. (It’s amazing how much longer it takes me to dig out from under these days! πŸ˜€ ) I’m looking forward to getting these things going again, for sure. πŸ™‚ ❀

    • Thanks, Robbie. And don’t forget, you’ll be welcome to take part in some of the “collaborative” ones, too, like sharing reviews or excerpts. We’d love to have you! πŸ™‚

    • Yes. Unloading stress. Via lots of whining! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Thanks for your understanding, Jacquie, and I look forward to you sharing some reviews and excerpts with us when we get those back “online” again. πŸ™‚ ❀

    • Thanks, Darlene! Since shaking my fist at the sky and shouting imprecations into the wind wasn’t working, I finally decided to just pick myself up, dust myself off, and … well you know how the rest of that goes, right? πŸ˜€ So I’m just taking it one day at a time and doing as much as I can, and the rest will wait until I get to it. I’m looking forward to getting the blog back up to speed again. πŸ™‚ ❀

  1. Great news, Marcia. It sounds like you are making a comeback big style! Looking forward to your regular posts. And I, for one, didn’t mind thw whining one little bit – we all need to offload stuff πŸ™‚

    • Thanks, Mary! It might still be slow for a while, but I’m plugging away at it. Whining gets boring after a while, and it doesn’t fix a dadblasted thing. (Though to be sure, it feels good now and then.) But mostly, it’s useless, so time to just suck it up and move on, even if I’m not moving very rapidly yet. πŸ˜€

Stay tuned! Things will gradually get back to normal around here! I’m determined! πŸ™‚ ❀

    • Thanks, Debby! Sorry I got discouraged for a bit there, but I’m feeling better every day. Getting through things one job at a time, and accepting that the rest might have to wait another day. Or six. πŸ˜€ I can’t wait to get folks sharing here more regularly again, myself! It was always a lot of fun! πŸ™‚ ❀

  2. I’m looking forward to seeing more from you Marcia, but please, don’t overwhelm yourself! I came out hard with my blog when I first started, regular features etc, then realised I couldn’t maintain it. I now do random posts when I can squeeze them in. Maybe not so satisfying for my readers, but great for my mental health!

    • I’m going to get back into it gradually, Jessica, so hopefully it won’t be too much for me. Finding the right balance is the trick, though I think that’s true of just about everything in life. And I’m going to start with a few archived posts to get the ball rolling, so I think that will help, too. I’m excited about it, and will find a way to budget my time so that it doesn’t make me crazy. Or if it does, I’ll take a week off now and then. Glad you’re looking forward to it. πŸ™‚ ❀

    • Thanks, Don. Luckily, I never had to take a complete break (except at Christmas), but pretty much all of my special features went away, for sure. I’ll really be happy to get them going again, and I’ll look forward to you participating in some of them, too. (BTW, do you want to do a release post on your new audiobook? If so, email me.) πŸ™‚

    • Thanks, Staci. I’m feeling great, so I hope that I can get organized enough to make this all work. Doing it one step at a time, though. I still have this book to finish, as you know. πŸ˜€ ❀

  3. Marsh I can feel your new born burst of energy through the airwaves. You know I look forward to all of your entertaining posts. Ease into it girl so you don’t re-overwhelm . . . is that a word? LOLLLL
I’m right behind you regrouping and getting my act together. I plan to get back to my author interviews next month too.
    Cheers to us! ❀ xx

    • Thanks, Julie! I’m looking forward to getting all the old features up and running again, even if it takes me a few weeks to do it all. I’ve missed them a lot, especially the ones that I’ve set up for others to take part in. Those are always fun! Stay tuned. Bit by bit, my life is going to return to some semblance of normal again. πŸ˜€
