It’s Day 3 of Bad Moon Rising over over on Teri Polen’s blog, and her guest today is Cage Dunn. If you love really shivery books, you definitely want to check out this post. And while you’re there, please remember to pass it along so others can enjoy it as well. Thanks! 🙂

Today we have an author making a first time appearance at Bad Moon Rising.  I read a wonderful review of Diaballein last week at D. Wallace Peach’s blog HERE  The list of three items to take into a haunted house totally makes sense – well thought out.  Welcome Cage Dunn!

Would you rather sleep in a coffin for one night, or spend a night in a haunted house?

For prickly-skin inspiration, I’d like to walk through a haunted graveyard at midnight on my way to sleep in the abandoned haunted house, but not in a coffin.

What three items would you take to the haunted house?

  1. eReader, of course, ‘cos how else am I going to get weird reflections of the ghosts who think I can’t see anything behind me?
  2. Pump-up mattress, ‘cos even sleeping with ghosts should offer some comfort, and old haunted houses are not conducive…

#BadMoonRising Eternal Road: The Final Stop by John W. Howell #paranormal #supernatural

John W. Howell is the featured guest today on Teri Polen’s Bad Moon Rising series. For the entire month of October, Teri will feature a different guest answering some great interview questions and sharing a bit about their work, specifically, something paranormal they’ve written. This is such a fun idea, and I heartily recommend you follow along daily. I’ll be sharing each one with you as I can, so you can click straight through and see for yourself. You’ll be glad you did! 🙂

You may have seen today’s author cruising around the blogosphere lately promoting his new book that’s featured here today, Eternal Road: The Final Stop.  Read on to learn why this author thinks a ghost would have him exorcised from the house instead of the other way around.  Welcome John W. Howell!

Would you rather sleep in a coffin for one night or spend the night in a haunted house?

I think I would rather spend the night in a haunted house. There are two reasons for this choice. The first is I have always been interested in the paranormal and would welcome the possibility of having a ghost interact with me. I would pump them for information on eternal life and other dimensions. It would probably end that the spirit would try to find an exorcist to get rid of me. The second reason is I have this creepy…

#BadMoonRising The Ballad of Mrs. Molony by C.S. Boyack #IndieAuthor #Paranormal

Heads up, folks! It’s time for Bad Moon Rising! For the month of October, Teri Polen is featuring a different author each day, including some very interesting interview questions. I’ll be sharing the posts here as I’m able, and I hope you’ll drop by daily to check out the fun! This is yesterday’s post, featuring C. S. Boyack. Head on over to say hi. You’ll be glad you did.

Teri Polen's avatarBooks and Such

Welcome to the first day of Bad Moon Rising!  Having been a fan of horror/paranormal/supernatural books and movies from a very young age (blame my dad for letting me watch some shows at a questionable age), I look forward to hosting this event every year.  Today’s author is known for his wildly creative speculative fiction novels and is here today with his newest book that released this week!  Many of us are familiar with Lizzie and the Hat, and The Ballad of Mrs.Molony is the third in the series.  C.S. Boyack is in the house!

Thanks for having me back, Teri. I look forward to Bad Moon all year. October is kind of my month, and I enjoy learning about all the other author participants.

Seems like I’m always the one to break the rules, so I’ll try to follow them as best I can. It’s a lot of…

Guest Author Thursday: Marica Meara with The Emissary 3: Love Hurts #newrelease

Good Morning, Everyone! Today, I’m visiting with Mae Clair to get the word out about my latest release, The Emissary 3: Love Hurts. I’m sharing an excerpt from a scene between Dodger and his “adopted” father, Jake, and I’d be super happy if you stopped by to check it out, and took a moment to comment and pass it along for others to read. Thanks so much, everyone, and my heartfelt thanks also to my very good friend, Mae, for helping me launch the final novella in this trilogy. 🙂 ❤

She’s also a fabulous supporter of others. I have gobbled up everything she’s written, including her first two Emissary novels—and this one! You can find my 5 STAR REVIEW HERE. I thoroughly love these characters! You’ll find out why soon enough as you read the blurb and excerpt she’s sharing. Take it away, Marcia!

Why Write Wrong? # 8

Just a heads up folks–I’ve been over on Story Empire today, too, with another post in my Why Write Wrong series. Hope you’ll swing by to check it out! Sorry I’m late letting you know, but I hope you’ll find time tonight or tomorrow to visit and share. Thanks so much! 🙂 ❤

Marcia Meara's avatarStory Empire

Hard to believe I’ve already been a member here at Story Empire for seven months! Seems like just yesterday I joined the group.

Funny, though. It’s also been seven months since I got put on house arrest by my doctor. One of these scenarios has passed by a lot more quickly than the other! 😀 Huh. Perspective is everything, isn’t it? 😀

Today, I’m continuing with my #WhyWriteWrong? series. This is the eighth one I’ve shared, and I wish I could find a way to connect that to my opening comments, but alas. I’m not coming up with a thing. 😦 Therefore, I’ll just jump right into today’s trio of words that sound alike, but are spelled differently, and mean very different things. In other words, these three words are homophones.

BRACE YOURSELVES. I’M GOING TO BEGIN WITH A LITTLE STORY!

Ahem. Way, way back, when I was a child…

#GuestDayTuesday – Astral Conspiracy by Staci Troilo

Today, please welcome Staci Troilo, my friend and fellow Story Empire author, who would like to share her latest releases (yes, plural!) with us today. I’ve read Book  1 in this series and can attest to just how good it is, so I know you’re going to enjoy finding out more about all five books! Take it away, Staci!

Ciao, Marcia. I’m so glad to be back here today. And greetings to all your readers.

I’m here today to talk about my Astral Conspiracy series. It’s technically science fiction, as it’s part of the acclaimed Platt and Truant Invasion Universe, but my saga is as much thriller as it is sci-fi, so I thought I’d have a little fun with my marketing and include pages from the top-secret government files on my main characters.

Today, I’m sharing info on Dev Chandra.

DOSSIER

Name: Dev Chandra

Occupation: Agent for US Government AATIP (Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program)

Of Note: Hired to debunk rumors of alien sightings and unaware of the existence of aliens before Astral Day.

TRANSCRIPT OF INTERVIEW BETWEEN AUTHOR (Staci Troilo a.k.a. D.L. Cross) AND CHARACTER (Agent Dev Chandra) ON ASTRAL DAY (the day the world is alerted to the approach of alien ships) via video conference. (Video is eyes-only, file #6221940-V, director’s approval required.)

Subject photo available, file #6221940-G

Staci: Hi, Dev. How’s it going?

Dev: How’s it going? Don’t you have the Astral app? Have you checked any news feeds today?

Staci: I do and I have. I know you work at AATIP. I thought you might have some insider information to share about the aliens on their way here.

Dev: Well, you’re going to get a kick out of this. I didn’t even know aliens existed until Rysoft sounded the alarm. This was as much a surprise to me as it is to you.

Staci: And now that you’ve had some time to process everything? What about your bosses? Aren’t they sharing info with you?

Dev: (he sighs) Tasha and Nadia are too busy trading insults and hostile glares to relay anything useful. And the director…

Staci: What about him?

Dev: (shrugging) Beck is Beck. It’s obvious he knows a lot more than he’s sharing. But I won’t know what that is until he shares it.

Staci: You can’t tell me anything?

Dev: Well, there has been talk. I thought it was just a rumor, but now…

Staci: What kind of talk?

Dev: There’s something going on at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Staci: Wright-Patt? What?

Dev: Like I said, it’s just a rumor right now. But it’s a juicy one. And now that I know aliens exist, I suspect it’s true. Especially since Tasha wants to go there.

Staci: Landon Thorne told me everything he knew.

Dev: The ancient astronaut kook? (he frowns) Well, I guess he’s not as “out there” as I thought.

Staci: He told me everything he’s thinking.

Dev: I doubt that.

Staci: He told me more than you did.

Dev: He’s a civilian. I’m a government agent. And because of that, I need to cut this short. Take care, Staci.

Staci: Wait! (but he left before another question could be posed)

Dev makes his debut in the Astral Conspiracy series in book one, The Gate. You can read a brief synopsis of all five books below, and each one has links to its product page and a purchase link.

The Gate: When the hypotheses of disgraced ancient alien theorist Landon Thorne prove to be true, he travels across the globe in search of a way to communicate with—and perhaps stop—the approaching alien armada.

The Stones: The invasion couldn’t be prevented, but there is a chance the Astrals can be driven away… if Landon Thorne can reach the Georgia Guidestones, unearth its secrets, and decode the mystery before the aliens stop him.

The Nine: Landon Thorne and his team of resistance fighters seek a cipher to decode the message accompanying a cache of alien artifacts they’ve unearthed, but the government, a clandestine cabal, and the Astrals themselves stand in their way and might not only put an end to their plans—they might put an end to their lives.

The Twins: When all factions converge for a human-versus-alien showdown, resistance fighter Reverie Sterling gets help from the least likely source. But even then, it may be too late for everyone she loves to make it out alive.

About Staci Troilo/D.L. Cross

D.L. Cross has loved science fiction ever since she was a young girl and fell for Major Don West on television’s Lost in Space. To this day, she still quotes the show, though her favorite lines were spoken by the robot and the antagonist. Parallel universes or alternate realities, aliens or dinosaurs, superpowers or super viruses, time travel or AI… no sci-fi theme is off limits and all of them fascinate her. D.L. Cross also writes other genre fiction under the name Staci Troilo, and you can find more information about all her identities and all her work at her website: https://stacitroilo.com.

Hello SErs. Harmony here.  As promised, here is  part sixteen in the post series dedicated to taking a step-by-step look at how to get your finished manuscript from your computer and on sale on Amazon in both ebook and paperback.

If you’d like to take a look back at the previous posts in this series, please click on the links at the end of this post.

So, here’s Part Sixteen: How to get your categories and keywords right.

You enter your keywords and categories on the book ‘details’ page, which is also where you will have input your book title and author details, etc.

Because Amazon’s search algorithms take into account your book title and subtitle, you don’t need to repeat any of those words in your keywords choices.

Currently, you’re allowed to input a total of seven keywords and two categories.

Amazon, for whatever reason…
