#GuestDayTuesday – #CoverReveal & More! – Deborah Jay

Back to our regularly scheduled #GuestDayTuesday again, so please help me welcome my friend, Deborah Jay, to The Write Stuff this morning. Debby has a whole bunch of exciting things to share with us today, and I know you’re going to enjoy it all! Take it away, Debby–you’re on!

~~~
Hi folks, and many thanks to Marcia for inviting me to be her guest today.
I’m really excited to bring you not one, but two cover reveals.
I adore my original cover for THE PRINCE’S MAN (Book #1, The Five Kingdoms), but books #2 & #3, and now #4 (more below!) have been created by awesome cover artist Ravven, ( Portfolio: Art – Ravven ) and I’ve felt the need for some time now to get her to produce a matching cover for book #1–and here it is!
Buy The Prince’s Man HERE
Isn’t that just gorgeous? And now it matches the others, which is going to be even more important soon, because, ta-da! I’ve finished writing #4, THE PRINCE’S HEIR, which completes this story.
I set out to write a trilogy, but the story kept on coming, and expanded to 4 sizeable books (well, they are epic fantasy, after all, so epic size is sort of expected). And so, it’s with a mix of satisfaction and sadness that I bring the tale of this set of characters to a close.
If you’re a fan, though, never fear, there will be more Five Kingdom books and novellas to complement the main story, and I already have an outline for a new trilogy, featuring the next generation.
If this is your first introduction to the series, here’s a short blurb for The Prince’s Man.
Think James Bond meets Lord of the Rings…
Rustam Chalice, gigolo and spy, loves his lifestyle just the way it is, so when the kingdom he serves is threatened from within, he leaps into action. Only trouble is, his spy master teams him up with an untouchable, beautiful aristocratic assassin who despises him.
Plunged into a desperate journey over the mountains, the mismatched pair struggle to survive deadly wildlife, the machinations of a spiteful god – and each other.
Magic, intrigue, and a pinch of romance collide in this captivating fantasy adventure!
And so, to the main event!
Seen first here, on The Write Stuff, the new cover of book #4,
THE PRINCE’S HEIR!
Here is the (working) blurb for THE PRINCE’S HEIR
(Soon to be Released)
Marten’s reign balances on a blade’s edge. Chel’s Casket, symbol of his right to rule, is missing. Can master spies, Rustam and Risada, recover it before someone notices its absence and questions Marten’s sovereignty?
But when Queen Betha is kidnapped, it becomes apparent something far more sinister is behind the theft. The contents of the casket contain instructions to raise the demon god, Charin. Would anyone dare use them, when the likely outcome is war between the two halves of the deity?
And if they succeed, will any mortal survive?
Here’s is a brief, light-hearted, excerpt from before the main action kicks off.
With her head full of plans and schedules, Risada returned to her office to find Rustam marching impatiently back and forth before her desk.
“You’ll wear tracks in the rug if you keep that up,” she said. He returned a lopsided grin.
“It’s my daily exercise, don’t you know? Since becoming the spy master’s assistant I’ve grown lazy, and my belt is too tight.”
“Then we should do something about that,” Risada agreed with a straight face. To her eye, Rustam had never looked better. “We can’t have our favourite dance master getting fat.”
“Goddess!” Coming to a standstill, he mimed a swoon. “I’d better get back to my practice routine; I can hardly remember the last time I danced, and if you expect me to woo all these women into pillow talk, I need to be on top form.”
~~~

Thanks so much, Debby, for letting us be the first to get the word out. It was great having you share your good news here, and folks, trust me. This is a series you really want to check out. I know I’m very much looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up, myself!  Congratulations, Debby! And here’s to many, many sales ahead! ❤

Author Deborah Jay

Deborah Jay writes epic fantasy and urban fantasy featuring complex, quirky characters and multi-layered plots – just what she likes to read.

Fortunate enough to live near Loch Ness in the majestic, mystery-filled Scottish Highlands with her partner and a pack of rescue dogs, she can often be found lurking in secluded glens and forests, researching locations for her books.

A lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy, she started writing her first novel aged eight, and has never stopped. Her first published novel is epic fantasy, THE PRINCE’S MAN, first in the Five Kingdoms series, and winner of a UK Arts Council award. #2, THE PRINCE’S SON and #3, THE PRINCE’S PROTEGE are both available with the concluding book in the quartet, THE PRINCE’S HEIR, due out in 2021.

Her first urban fantasy, DESPRITE MEASURES, about a Scottish water sprite, is the opening novel of the CALEDONIAN SPRITE SERIES. The companion short story, SPRITE NIGHT is available FREE on most ebook retailers.

Thank You & Going MIA Again!

Just want to say a quick thank you to all who offered support and commiseration yesterday. I was really freaked out, as you may have surmised.  I’ve done all the things suggested, including a few I already knew, and the good news is that (SO FAR) my computer is running fine today. John, Windows Defender told me there were no problems at all and that my system was good to go. I’ve saved the instructions, though, just in case it goes off the rails again.

The bad news (you knew there had to be some, right?) is that I still have a program to give Saturday, and a whole lotta people have reserved seats. But, more bad news, I’m only 2/3 done with the slideshow. URK. That means I will be MIA from the blogging world in general until I finish this presentation. Hopefully, it won’t extend beyond today, but it has to be done, even if it spills over into tomorrow. I will take a break later this afternoon to “Like” and Tweet where I can, but that’s about all I’ll be able to do until this project is ready for Prime Time.

The other good news, is this is the last new program I have to create for this year! I’m not doing any talks in December, and hopefully that will give me time to get a few more new ones ready before the new year arrives.

Thanks for your understanding and your help, and hope to be back by tomorrow. (So I guess that means I better get ON IT right now!! I think I hear a crested caracara calling me!) See you soon!
