***FREE*** #epicfantasy THE PRINCE’S MAN by Deborah Jay

While Marcia enjoys a holiday break with her family, I’m taking the opportunity to hijack The Write Stuff for a little shameless self-promotion.

For the first (and possibly only) time, book 1 (ebook) in my highly rated Five Kingdoms epic fantasy series is available at all outlets for

***FREE***

Blurb:

Rustam Chalice, gigolo and spy, loves his lifestyle just the way it is, so when the kingdom he serves is threatened from within, he leaps into action. Only trouble is, his spy master teams him up with an untouchable, beautiful, aristocratic assassin who despises him.

Plunged into a desperate journey over the mountains, the mismatched pair struggle to survive deadly wildlife, the machinations of a spiteful god – and each other.

Think James Bond meets Lord of the Rings – a sweeping tale of spies and deadly politics, inter-species mistrust and magic phobia, spiced with a pinch of romance.

Please help yourself and see why others are saying such things as:

★★★★★ “Please note, that it is advisable to start this book when you have a block of time to dedicate to it. Starting an hour before needing to leave the house will make you late, I should know”

★★★★★ “It starts off hitting the ground running with action, but carries the reader along easily.”

★★★★★ “Jay paints a vivid world, that we are treated to in this dangerous adventure that tests our heroes to every limit. Including having them question everything they had ever taken for granted.”

★★★★★ “Adventure, heartache, murder, horses, mayhem, elves; the list gallops on, bursting with action in this well written novel set in a completely believable world. Attention grabbing story and underlying layers of detail make it a ‘can’t put downer’.”

★★★★★ “I enjoyed this greatly. It is indicative of a good read if you immediately search for the next book in the series.”

#FREE for the first (and only) time – THE PRINCE’S MAN #Fantasy

While Marcia is clearing up her dead moss monster following Hurricane Dorian’s unwelcome visit, I thought I’d quickly share the news that book #1 in my Five Kingdoms fantasy series, THE PRINCE’S MAN, is part of a FREE boxed set. So, if you’ve hesitated about trying it, you can pick it up now without parting with a cent.

It’s marketed as ‘Dark Fantasy’, but that’s only on the grounds the books contain some violence (sword fights, anyone?) and darker themes. To be fair, I haven’t read the others, so I can’t vouch fully for their content, but this was the second set put together by Patty Jensen, the other set having the criteria of being ‘wholesome and sweet’.

The set is currently sitting pretty in the top 10 free fantasy books on Amazon, but it can always do with a few more downloads – PLEASE SHARE!

You can find it at any of these outlets:

Another Thought On Freebies & Other Promos

cover at 35%      WWR box set graphic1

By releasing a boxed set of my Wake-Robin Ridge series, I may have boxed myself right into a corner, pun intended. I now have both Wake-Robin Ridge and A Boy Named Rabbit out as individual releases, regular price $4.99. Plus a boxed set of the two for $5.98, which means buyers would be getting WRR #1 for 99 cents.

I don’t have the time or energy (still not back to normal 100%) to do a major launch with blog tours and give-away parties, so I’m going for a more basic KDP Select freebie style promo, at least for now. I made a mistake when I said you have to wait 30 days to offer a new book for free. That only applies to a countdown promotion. So. If I offer Rabbit and WRR both for free simultaneously, I’m negating the point of the boxed set. At least for the duration of the promo. Could be worth it, anyway.

OR…I could offer Rabbit free for those who’ve already read WRR #1,  and the boxed set for free for those who haven’t, and want to read both.

I like this idea better, myself, but I’m wondering if it makes sense to anyone else? To me, it seems like the logical thing to do. And later, I can permanently reduce the price WRR #1 to encourage future readers to start the series. Any thoughts, anyone?

Boxed Set Update

Well, I got it listed, and it looks pretty good, I think. Check it out here, and let me know what you think. I shortened the name and threw everything but the kitchen sink into the description. (I just read that you should use every bit of that space that’s allowed, making sure all your keywords show up there, too.) I was hoping amazon would put the comparison up there, showing how much you save buy buying the set, but maybe there was something I was supposed to do to show that. ?? Still learning, here, but at least it’s up. Hope you guys like how it looks, and if you have any suggestions, please feel free to post here. Thanks!
