Anyone who is interested in movies might know that Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born actress who became famous on the silent screen and was one of the first film stars. At the height of her career, she was one of the richest and most famous women in the United States. She died in 1979 and was involved in the movie business all her life. I think she was given an honourary Oscar towards the end of her life. She was often called America’s sweetheart.
