It’s coming, folks! Yes! Believe it or not, Harry Dresden is BACK! According to every reliable source I can find, Jim Butcher’s latest adventure from the Dresden Files, Peace Talks, will be arriving on July 14!! Think of it! That’s a mere 14 weeks from today! And, yes! I know I’m ending every sentence with exclamation points, but I’ve been waiting SIX YEARS for him to get this book written and published! Six! Years!
That’s six years without my favorite adult Wizard in the world. Six years of wondering how the upcoming catastrophe will be averted. (Whatever it was. I mean, come on. I can’t be expected to remember all the details for more than half a decade, can I?) And most important of all—six years of waiting to see if Harry and Sgt. Karrin Murphy will finally, at LOOOONG last, take their relationship to the next level, in the totally obvious direction we’ve been expecting over the fifteen previous books!
You may expect to find future Peace Talk updates, filled with Dresden Files tidbits and images, over the next 14 weeks–right here! Same time, same channel. Tune in as we Dresden fans await the Big Day! See you next Tuesday!
PEACE TALKS, DRESDEN FILES BOOK 16 IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER ON AMAZON!

You an’ me, girl! You an’ me!!! We will count every tick of the clock before that book comes sailing through the ether to our Kindles. (With the hard copy to follow for my shelves, too.) 😀 And good idea. I think I’ll re-read Skin Game, as well. (I’ll try not to skip straight to the hospital scene. 😉 )

Have you joined up for Jim butcher’s mailing list? If not you might be interested in doing so. I just got a email earlier with some announcements, including one about a new, image-heavy post. http://jim-butcher.com

I haven’t so far, Jeanne. I’m one of those people who can’t stand to find out anything about a book before I’ve read it, and sometimes, even if they don’t mean to do it, newsletters have too many clues for me. BUT. Having said that, I’m so desperate for this book, I just MIGHT check it out. I have been known to stop by the site over the last SIX, count ’em, SIX years to see if there was news, so who knows. Maybe I’ll go crazy and join. 😀 Thanks for the suggestion. Thinking, here …………….. 😀

Me too, Craig. (In case you didn’t figure that out, yet. 😀 ) I simply can’t wait for this one, and guess what else?? The NEXT one is due out in SEPTEMBER!!! Do you think he’s trying to make up for lost time or something??? 😀

I can not wait. Can’t wait. I’ve been waiting, and waiting, and waiting. C’mon already! I miss Mouse. And Mister. And …
I’m going to have to reread Skin Game, too. Aw, heck, I might have to re-read all of them. I wonder if I can manage one a week before Peace Talks comes out … 😀

Oh, I can see we are going to have a lot to talk about, Julie! We (along with Jeanne Owens, for sure) are committed to the Dresden Files. (Does that make us Dresdenphiles?) 😀
Butcher claimed to have 5 or 6 more books coming in this series, but at this rate, I’ll be 112 or so before he finishes!! 😯 However, with the following book, Battle Ground coming out in September, there is at least HOPE for the pace picking up a bit.
And, my fellow Dresdenphile, I’m definitely planning to re-read Skin Game, so I’m up to speed on where we left off. But last night, like you, it also occurred to me that I might actually be able to start over from the beginning. That would be fun, as Butcher’s writing skills and imagination have both grown considerably since his first book. I enjoyed that one and wanted to read more, but one of the best things was the way the stories just kept getting better and better. (And longer and longer. 😀 ) One a week MIGHT be doable. Should we have a Challenge? 😀
And–POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT– I miss Mouse and Mister, too, and Bob the Skull. But if my memory serves me correctly–and that’s a BIG “if”–they are each in someone else’s care right now, are they not? Plus, I’ve still not gotten over the shock of Harry losing his apartment! GAH!!!!! l LOVED that place!!!! 😥
At any rate, we Dresden Junkies will soon get our fix! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s Countdown Post! I’ll be sharing a quick tidbit and image each week. 😀 And thanks for taking a minute to weigh in on this fantastic news! Yippee-ki-yi-yay! ❤ Dresdenphiles of the World, UNITE!
*Wandering off now, wondering what else I can get all OCD about. I'm sure there's something. It's my job. It's what I do. 😀 *
