Wow, it has been interesting seeing how my new idea worked for today’s trial run, and I’ve already made a list of ways it can be better by next Friday. A tweak here or there will make it smoother on both your end and on mine. I will be posting mid-week to let everyone know how it’s going to work going forward, so you can all mark your calendars. That way, you’ll not miss out on getting your answers to me. More on this later. But not to worry. I really want to make this a fun thing each week, and I WILL figure out the best way to do that, so no one misses out.
Thanks for the great response so far. Our winners are: Harmony Kent, Staci Troilo, Jeanne Owens, Deborah Jay, and Bill Engelson. Jeanne, Debby, and Bill, email me with your book of choice, and let me know if you want it sent to you, or to someone else.Ā
THANKS so much for playing. Have a nice night, everyone!
Huh? What’s that? Some of you would like to know the answer???Ā š Okay. I suppose I can give you that. š
*ahem* “It was a pleasure to burn” is the opening line of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. One of my favorite authors, btw, and a most excellent book. šĀ
Next week’s challenge might be harder. It might be easier. Depends on which one I pick. The post will go live at 8:00am, and submissions will close at noon, which I think makes it 1:00pm to 5:00pm in the U.K.Ā Mark your calendars. And keep an eye out for a mid-week post with more details. Got some ideas for ways to make it all even more fun.
Stay tuned for more, and whatever you do, don’t touch that dial! š
Congrats to all! So much fun:)

Thank YOU, Harmony, for your help in figuring out how to get copies sent to you folks across the pond. I never knew that I couldn’t gift a download from Amazon directly to you, so this has been a learning experience for me, as well. Next week will be easier, I think, and hopefully, this will become something you guys look forward to. š

Thanks, Roberta! I hope they all enjoyed the quiz, and I’ll be checking out your review. I’d like this to evolve into a little game on Fridays, followed by a discussion on that week’s book, but we’ll see how many folks would enjoy that. If nothing else, I’ll post a follow up with a blurb and Buy links to those that are listed on Amazon. š

Bill, just realized your email is Amazon.ca not .com, and I suspect they are not going to let me gift the book to you directly. I found out Friday that I can’t gift my readers in U.K., for instance. I have to send tdhem a a PDF or Mobi file they can upload to their Kindle, and that may be true for you, as well. Let me double check.

I knew it would take a while for everyone to find out about it, even though I posted earlier in the week, but that’s okay. I’m still working the kinks out of how to handle it in the easiest way, and I’ll be posting more about it in the future. Lots of reminders, too. š And I have loads of first lines to choose from, so with any luck, this will be a lot of fun for everyone. š

I can’t believe it. I actually thought of Fahrenheit 451 but thought I was wrong. I should have went with my gut.
Congrats to all the winners!

Well yes, that and have done it FRIDAY. Hahahahahahahaha. Seriously, you’ll have lots and lots of chances to win going forward. And over time, there will very likely be more prizes. š Just be sure to makr you calendar for Friday mornings. (Yes, I know you may have to step out of the pool to play, if you don’t have your iPhone on the raft with you, but only for a moment. It’s quick and easy. š )
