Just wanted to thank everyone who shared my The Emissary 2: To Love Somebody release posts this week. (Two more coming next week, and that’s all, I promise!) I really appreciate your generosity and support, and figured I at least owed you some Saturday laughs as a way to say thanks. Saved these from various places around the net because they made me smile, and I hope they’ll give you guys a grin, too. Enjoy! π

Oh, my gosh. These were hilarious. You know me and Wizard of Oz stuff.
Congratulations on the release, Marcia. Glad to have been a small help. Wishing you all the best.

Actually, I didn’t know about you and WOZ, Staci. Are you a collector? Did you know I’m an Oz fanatic, and for years had an Over the Rainbow guest room? I’ve collected Oz thingies for years and years, and have boxes full of them. And I’ve told my family they MUST play Over the Rainbow at my funeral, and my headstone should read, “She’s Off to See The Wizard.” π Seriously, I have loved the film since I first saw it at a drive-in theater (remember those?) during a 10th anniversary showing. I was five, and was sitting on the hood of the car until the flying monkeys appeared. I watched the rest of the movie from the floor in the back, peeking through the front seats. π And STILL I never quit loving it.
I was wondering how many folks would get the North by Northwest reference in the last one, which I thought was too funny for words! π
Thanks again for all your help with TE2, Staci, both in editing the book to be sure it was as good as we could make it, and in sharing the cover reveal and release day posts. SO grateful! π

I swear we discussed WoO before. I ADORE it. I used to have a bigger collection, but for various accidents throughout moves over the years, I’m down to 6 figurines and a snow globe. I’m pretty sure I can quote the entire movie, line by line. I even played the Wicked Witch of the West in a school play! (You should hear me cackle. It’s positively wicked.) I’ll always love that film. And the books!
So very glad to have helped with the book and the release. Wishing you well.

Sorry. Thought I was replying to our thread, but I somehow managed to start a new one.

Meh. Who’s counting? π I honestly think I would have remembered a fellow WOZ lover, though it’s possible I’ve just forgotten. But at any rate, I will remember THIS time. It’s my favorite movie of all times, and I know all the dialogue, too. (I taught Jason to sing “It really was no miracle, what happened was just this …” all the way through when he was 2-1/2.) π
Now I know who to bequeath my collection to someday. (My kids don’t want it, though I still have hope for my grandkids.) π β€

Thanks for these. Loved the film, too. My favourite is Dorothy sitting by the blazing fire… π

Hahaha. You have a wicked sense of humor, Trish! I loved all the Wozzie ones, but I’m partial to the Wicked Witch of the North by Northwest. π Glad you got a smile out of these. π β€

Hehehe. Me, too, Jacquie. Actually, I loved them all, which is how they ended up here. π But as a four-cat family, you never know what you kind of surprises you’re going to find here or there, do you? π

Those are hysterical!!! My favorites are the corn maze for old people and the mural. Absolutely priceless!
Thanks for the laughs, Marcia.
And thanks for a great read with Emissary 2. I finished the book last night and posted my 5-star review to Amazon and Goodreads today. Can’t wait for the next installment!!

I love the corn maze, too. Finally, a fall challenge I can handle! π And that mural is hilarious. So glad you got a laugh from these. And OMG, I just read your review on Amazon, and I’m absolutely thrilled you enjoyed TE2, too! I was biting my nails last night, wondering if you’d finished or not, and if you had, if it worked for you this time around. The tone is a bit different, because the relationships have grown, but I still tried to pack all the right emotions into the story, regardless. SO pleased it worked!
Writing about these three always, always lifts my spirits. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, and again, I’m over the moon to know you enjoyed it! π β€

Can’t wait for the final chapter—but I will be dreadfully sad to see it end.
