How About We Share?
We’ve grown so fast that many new followers may not be aware of the purpose of this blog, and many older ones might need to be reminded. Think of The Write Stuff as the corner pub or the Algonquin round table, only MUUUUCH bigger. This is where writers touch base with other writers, to share news and resources, ask questions, and offer encouragement. It’s YOUR blog, as much as mine.
To make it easier, here’s a list of some of the things you are encouraged to share here:
- New releases
- Promotions and sales
- Guest posts/interviews on other blogs
- New websites you’ve found that are helpful to writers
- Ideas/tips for self-marketing, especially if you’ve tried & have results to pass along
- Reviews (now and then) that you are really proud of, especially if they are in conjunction with a promo
- Publications/websites you think others will enjoy or learn from
- Events you’ve attended and might recommend to others in the future
- Ideas for building readership, both online and locally
- Pretty much anything you think would be of interest or helpful to other writers
This list might not be all-inclusive, because things might come up that I haven’t even considered before. But it will give you some ideas of the kinds of things you can share here, and that others will be glad to pass along for you. Everyone should remember to share your posts with the Immediate World, in the knowledge that they will receive the same sharing for their own posts.
My only rules for posting are these: no politics, no religion, and nothing overtly erotic. Sexy is fine. You know the difference, I’m sure, and if you don’t, I’ll remind you. Nicely, of course. 🙂
Now. That’s easy enough, right? So we expect to see more of you posting in the days ahead. If you are already an author/contributor, you can post at will. If you aren’t, email me, and I’ll help you. mmeara@cfl.rr.com
Let’s learn from each other, grow together as we master our craft, point each other toward books & sites that will teach us new things, and help each other get the word out!
GO, us!! 😀

Twitted, Googled, Pinned and bookmarked this.
Thank you!

Hi Marcia,
We have something similar on my blog. We have a blogger collaboration group where we share each other’s posts.
I know Annette and Chris. I found you on his blog.

Nice to meet you, Janice! Hope you’ll enjoy visiting here often. You never know what you’re going to find. I do a few weekly features, myself, and with any luck, several other posters will pop in with things to share, as well. Have fun! 🙂

This is the reason I tell people that you will never find more giving, caring, sharing people than bloggers. 🙂

And writers, of course. We love to share and help each other, and tell people about our books, etc, etc. The writing community is so supportive, it boggles the mind. And the bloggers are an integral part of it all, too. SO grateful to everyone who shares, in any capacity! And especially to the folks who make up this blog. We have both wonderful bloggers and outstanding writers visiting here every day. Hope you’ll enjoy your time here, too, And btw…I’m Floridaborn, myself. But without the “e,” which could make a difference in the meaning. 😀

I was born in South Florida. I used to be Floridaborn, but found there were other people on the internet using that handle, so I added an e at the end. 🙂

Well then, there’s you, me, Gerald Darnell, and some guy up in the panhandle. 😀 Natives, all. I was born on the other end of the state, in Jacksonville. When I tell people I’m a Florida native, they stare at me like I’d just confessed I like a side order of toads with my burger. 😀

Any old-timer from Florida will tell you that you’re a Florida Cracker and the definition is “anyone who is born in Florida.” No matter what shade of skin, social classification or creed. 🙂

I’ve always been a Florida Cracker, and don’t like the term being misappropriated by some. You probably know it originated with the early cowboys who herded half wild cattle through the pines and palmettos, cracking their whips over the heads of the herd to get them moving. Hence, the term goes back to the earliest days, and is one I’m proud to claim. (I sort of go back to the earliest days, myself. 😯 )

Yep. It has been hijacked and morphed into something it’s not. Someone tried to tell me it was the sound of slaves being whipped. I’d laugh, if it wasn’t pathetic.

It’s a shame that so many people don’t know their history. I see evidence of that all the time, sadly. Sometimes you can offer a word of enlightenment, and sometimes, it’s better to walk away, as it would only fall on deaf ears.

That’s very true. Thanks for letting me know there are still people who remember. 🙂

Great! I’ll be home all day today, I think, chained to my chair as I work on CH 3 of my latest Riverbend book. Will keep an eye out, even though I tend to turn of my notifier when writing, so the dings and beeps don’t distract me. Looking forward to getting to know you better. 🙂

Thanks so much for reblogging, Sally, and for letting your followers know they can get a bit more exposure here. We are still growing on The Write Stuff, and every member has a circle of contacts who would love to know about promos, etc. Writers helping writers is what we do! 😀 And it spreads out like ripples in a pond.

I’m a newbie to the blog but really looking forward to reading and sharing everyone’s posts…along with contributing a few of my own. I’ve been looking for a blog group like this for a long time. What a wonderful site you’ve created, Marcia. Authors supporting authors is what it’s all about! As an aside, I am happy to promote others on my blog, From the Pen of Mae Clair (https://maeclair.net) for anyone who has a book promo to share.

SO glad you found us, then, Mae Clair. It has been working very well for the last year and a half or so, but now and then, I have to remind folks not to be shy about sharing. Summer is much slower, as people are on vacations, etc, but we have quite a few contributors, and I always help the others, too, when I can. Which is most of the time. 🙂 Also, I like to do events now and then, like Excerpt Week, when everyone is invited to share an excerpt from anything they’ve written, published or not, and it gets shared far and wide. It’s always popular, and I’ll probably do a new one in the next two weeks or so. If you get a chance, email me today, as I have something to ask you about. 🙂 So glad you’re here!

I look forward to hearing from you!

Lol, you crack me up! (Except when you’re making me cry. Thanks for NOT warning me about more tears visiting Frank) I was down at the gym on the treadmill reading your addictive book when I came to that part, SANS Kleenex, people looking at me with tears on the treadmill. Lol, sounds like a good title for a new book “Tears on the Treadmill” Ha haha ❤

Oops. Sorry. Frank’s scene IS pretty touching, I guess. He’s a lovely character. And if you think he made you cry in THIS book . . . well, you better invest in a tractor trailer full of Kleenex before you read Rabbit. Hahahahaha. (That was my EVIL laugh.)
As for Tears on the Treadmill,” I like it. I think I’ll start on that tonight. It’ll be about two writers who are cyber friends, one of whom actually tries to stay fit, but is being sabotaged by her buddy, who keeps making her read sob stories at the gym, thus endangering her life as she tries to work out. Whaddya think? Have we got a winner? 😀

I posted my first post yesterday! If anyone could check it out that would be amazing, feedback, suggestions, literally anything is appreciated. Starting a blog is something I’ve always wanted to do but I’ve never felt like it’s been the right time, but now it’s the right time I think!
My blog is where I talk about subjects that I’m passionate about and just day to day life (if it’s interesting) Thank you, this is such a wonderful idea.

It’s painful. Thank you for the generous offer. I’ll let you know if I can think of anything…interesting? Worthwhile? 💖💖💖
