Great Egret
Photo by Doug Little – St. Johns River EcoTours
Sunday seems a good day to share things that inspire me, particularly when I write, so I’m hereby declaring it #InspirationBoardSunday on #TheWriteStuff. In the weeks ahead, expect to see some beautiful photos of things I find especially inspiring. (And no, they won’t all be of Chris Hemsworth as either #GunnarWolfe OR #Thor. I promise. No, really . . . I mean it. They won’t . . . hardly ever. )
The truth is, beauty surrounds us, even in times when you think the world has gone mad. I figure it never hurts to remind ourselves of that. Here in central Florida, a land known for the element of make-believe, there are still vast areas of mysterious and incredibly lovely natural habitat, where birds and wildlife still hold sway. When all else fails, I look to them for inspiration, and they haven’t let me down, yet. Hope you’ll enjoy my #InspirationBoardSunday feature, and the places it might take your mind.

Florida Panther

Thanks for sharing, Marcia. Pinned to my Love Birds and Love Critters boards! 🙂

You’re welcome, Linda. Next Sunday I’ll probably feature some mountain images, since the Blue Ridge mountains are so dear to my heart. Glad you liked these. The Florida panther is a subspecies of the western cougar, slightly smaller, and with differences in skull shape. It’s incredibly beautiful, isn’t it? There will be more photos from here, as well. And other images that I find inspirational. 😀 Have a great day!

Thank you, Let’s! 🙂 The top one is courtesy of my friend (and inspiration for my lead male character in Swamp Ghosts) Doug Little. He’s a very gifted wildlife photographer, and a great person, as well. He and his wonderful wife, Captain Jeanne Bell, run the EcoTour boat, The Naiad, on the St. Johns River, and they provided me with great ideas for my characters and setting, both. There will be more of his photography coming up in the weeks ahead, since it is pinned all over my personal Inspiration Board. And there will be plenty of photos from the Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains, as well. These are the places I find inspiring every day. 🙂 Hope they’ll strike a chord with you, as well.

Doug’s picture of the egret is one I use in my Swamp Ghosts PowerPoint presentation. His photos, most taken from the deck of the Eco-Tour boat, the Naiad, are simply wonderful, and his annual calendar is always a source of inspiration to me. Hope you’ll find this feature one that works to inspire you, as well, whether in your writing, or just as a lift to your spirits, in general. 😀

Wow, that egret is stunning.
Always love great wildlife pictures – though photos of Thor do go a long way in the inspiration business…

The egret is wearing full breeding plumage. So beautiful! I like wildlife pictures, too, and mysterious swamps, and mountain vistas. Look for all of the above and more. But sorry on the Thor thing. I promised I wouldn’t do it. Ever. Mostly. Okay, probably now and then. 😀 😀 😀 (I take my inspiration wherever I can get it, and Chris Hemsworth inspires the HECK outta me!)
