AWOL…and More of the Same Coming.

So sorry to have been missing in action these last two weeks or so, but I’ve been working like a thing possessed to get caught up and ready for my impending foot surgery (this Friday). Sadly, I will be undergoing a long recuperation afterward, which might limit my time online, too. They are doing bone surgery and putting in a steel pin, and I won’t be able to put any weight at all on that foot for several weeks. I’ll spend the first two stuck in the Comfy Chair (or bed) with it elevated and iced, so can’t sit at the computer at all. Then I’ll gradually be able to use a wheelchair and slowly transition to crutches or a walker. But I’ll pretty much be stuck at home for the next six weeks, and it will take a full three months or so for it to heal completely.

The good news is, if all goes well, once it is healed, I will be able to walk without pain for the first time in several years. YAY! (I had this done to my other foot seven years ago, and knew this day was coming.) I have bought a tablet, and set up working space around the Comfy Chair, where I can sit with my foot elevated in front of me, and hopefully, keep up with my blogs, and do a bit of work on the last edits of Finding Hunter. Plus, I’m hoping I’ll have time to catch up on my reading, too. After a couple of weeks, I’ll be able to sit at the computer in the wheelchair for short periods, IF my foot doesn’t swell too much in that position.

I will definitely be able to keep in touch via email, and will do my best to post here somewhat regularly, too. I need to wrap up Finding Hunter, in time for a September release, and get started on Harbinger (Book 3 of theย  Wake-Robin Ridge series), aiming for a spring release. So…no rest for the weary…or the foot-impaired, as the case may be.

You guys keep on keepin’ on, and please remember to tweet and share everyone’s news while I’m gone. (I’m guessing I’ll be pretty much out of things this weekend, what with all the good drugs and all. But I should be back in a limited way byย Monday, at least.)

As you were, folks! See you soon!!

    • Thanks, Deborah. I hope to be able to write and read, and let Mark take care of all the shopping, and most of the “cooking.” (I suspect we’ll be eating a lot of frozen casseroles and take out, but that’s fine with me. As long as he handles it.) I do plan to stock up the freezer, and as soon as I can navigate a wheelchair, I’ll be able to put on the slow cooker in the morning, and have a whole meal that night, without having to work at it. Plus, there will be leftovers. We’ll manage. It’s trying to shower with a garbage bag taped over my leg that gets tricky. ๐Ÿ™‚
