I’m in the process of fearing for a (reluctant) hero, right now. Will the man ever stop beating himself up and do what he knows he needs to do? *sigh* 😀

Ooh, intriguing! Was that a peek into a new book? *fingers crossed*

No, this is one I’m reading. The Robin Hobb Liveship Trader trilogy. I’m discovering pure fantasy in my old age, and have developed a real passion for dragons. Plus, I want a LIVESHIP, too. And Brashen Trell to sail it for me. 😀 While I like Hobb’s Farseer books better (being totally enamored of both Fitzchivalry and the Fool), I’m enjoying the Liveship books while I wait for the conclusion (I suspect) of the Farseer tales. I’ll read her Rain Wild trilogy, too, before that last Farseer book comes out.
We have a goldfish pond. I’m envisioning at least a TINY Liveship, with a beautiful living mermaid figurehead to keep the goldfish company. Is that so much to ask? 😀

I don’t think that too much to ask ;-D. I’ll have to check those out, they’re completely new to me.

Robin Hobb began her Farseer trilogy way back around 1996, and it has continued to find new readers (and addicted ones, like me) all these years. The Liveship Trilogy and the Rain Wilds trilogy were sort of inserted into the Farseer books, as they are written in the same world, though focusing on other lands and characters, with some overlap. They can be read out of order, but having done so, I can tell you, I wish I’d read them IN order. If you try them, this is the order I’d suggest:
Farseer Trilogy (Fitz & the Fool)
1. Assassin’s Apprentice (1995)
2. Royal Assassin (1996)
3. Assassin’s Quest (1997)
Liveship Traders
1. Ship of Magic (1998)
2. The Mad Ship (1999)
3. Ship of Destiny (2000)
Tawny Man (Back to Fitz & the Fool)
1. Fool’s Errand (2001)
2. The Golden Fool (2002)
3. Fool’s Fate (2003)
Rain Wild Chronicles
1. The Dragon Keeper (2009)
2. Dragon Haven (2010)
3. City of Dragons (2012)
4. Blood of Dragons (2013)
Fitz and the Fool Trilogy
1. Fool’s Assassin (2014)
2. Fool’s Quest (2015)
The final Fitz and the Fool book is due out in August, I think. I have been in love with this world from the very first book, and Fitzchivalry will remain one of my favorite characters, forever. The Fool, as well, as he is truly a unique being. I’ll be sad when it finally comes to a conclusion, as it must at some point. 🙂

Thanks so much for that, Marcia. I’ll make a note, I always prefer to read series in order 🙂

Me, too, Cathy. I read the Farseer books in order, but I didn’t realize that the overlap in the other trilogies would have worked better in order, too. So I’m reading those now (Liveship & Rain Wild) while I wait for the last Farseer book, but sadly, I already know a few outcomes that I wish I didn’t. I’m totally hooked on these books, however. *sigh* I have so many other books I should be reading, but I just can’t help myself.

I know that feeling, I keep added to my reading list until I feel like I’m drowning in books 😀 but I’m not complaining, better that than the alternative.

Thanks so much for the reblog! BTW, I’m an owl lover, myself. We have barred owls in our yard often. 🙂
