Now THIS Looks Much Better!

Happily, the rain and wind have disappeared from this area, the sun is out again, and if I had the energy to get in my canoe, I could head out on the river just like this gal. (If you look close, you can see the manatee she’s watching.) 

Even if I stay home, though, it’s nice to have the storms  gone, at least for the time being. My thoughts are with those who are still dealing with “Debby,” and I hope their weather will soon clear up, too!

    • Thanks, Nancy. BTW, No crocs around this part of the state, and the gators stayed in their lakes and ponds, happily. Our neighborhood doesn’t flood, so they weren’t attracted, I reckon. But we do have a lake fairly close by, and I’ve sure seen them there. Which is why, fresh or salty, I never, EVER swim in any body of water that isn’t enclosed in turquoise concrete. Having been raised here, I’ve seen WAAAY too much for that to be something I could relax and enjoy. 😂

    • Thanks so much, Priscilla, and yep, we do have some beautiful, spring-fed streams around here, all of them crystal clear. It really makes canoeing fun, even though I haven’t been in some time. Hopefully, I’ll get back out there again before too much longer. 😀 ❤

  5. What a relief! I love that picture – the water’s so clear. You’ve been so lucky to have had that for your canoeing and it makes me think of some of those poems from your Summer Magic book. ❤ ❤ ❤

    • Glad you liked the picture, Trish, and funny enough, I was thinking of our gorgeous, crystal clear streams when I was working on Summer Magic. I haven’t been canoeing in a long time, but I’m hoping the next time Erin visits, she and I can head out for a nice day on the water. She loves it almost as much as I do. 😀 ❤

    • The weather is very pretty to look at right now, Sally, from inside an air-conditioned room, that is. Heat Index today is 109!!! Actual temps a bit lower, but with that sun beating down like a blast furnace, it definitely feels like 109! I’m staying inside until somewhere around October or November, I think. (For a Florida Native, I sure do hate HOT weather.)
