#Update – #Still on Break …

HONEST!

I’m pretty sure I’ll get back to blogging again before very much longer … probably! … but right now, my calendar is covered with various medical appointments that are keeping me busy. Honestly, I can’t remember when I had so many tests and check-ups on my agenda, but I suspect I’ll be better off in the long run if I don’t miss ANY of them. Will try to keep you updated as things progress, and especially as soon as I know when I can actually resume at least some of the things I love most in life. (Which includes blogging!)  Tuesday, I’ll be getting fitted with a Holter monitor for a week, and hopefully, the results of that heart monitoring won’t be anything too dire.

In the meantime, I’m trying not to overdo too much, and I’m avoiding the heat, which is awful right now. (When the day STARTS like it did today, with a 93 degree reading at 8:00am , you know it’s gonna be a bad one.) So, basically, I’m pretty much housebound until … oh, maybe LATE SEPTEMBER, or so!! (Possibly even early OCTOBER!)

I will try to find some fun things to post about, just so I won’t go stir crazy, and you guys won’t forget me.  Maybe I’ll share a  daily quote or the like, just for fun. Here’s one you might enjoy:

“He has no enemies, but is intensely disliked by his friends.” (Oscar Wilde)

And on that note, I’m heading back to the Comfy Chair
by the Big Fan!
Have a great rest of your day, everyone!

    • They sure do. I don’t do sun well, even when it’s cooler outside, having had several pretty severe cases of skin cancer. But I SURE don’t go outside on days like today! It’s after 7:00pm now, and still over 90 out there. GAAAAHHH! If I could get my husband out from under the palm tree, I’d move north in a heartbeat, and I’M the one who’s a native Floridian. Thank goodness we have central heat and air, though we only ever use one of those. 😀 Guess which one? 😀 😀 😀

  1. I don’t function in temperatures as high as that. I hope you have good air conditioning! You’re being sensible about following doctor’s orders – it’ll be so much better in the long run. And there’s no way we’ll be forgetting about you. ❤ ❤ ❤

    • I don’t function in anything over 80, myself, Trish. I’ll be pretty much housebound from now until late September or possibly even into October. But … to be fair … winter and springtime are fabulous here. I reckon you have to take the bad with the good, sometimes. And yep, we have central heat and air, though we’ve only ever had the heat on a handful of times in the 20 years we’ve lived here. But the a/c is fantastic … AND my husband is a guy who can fix ANYTHING, and he is very good with making sure it always runs smoothly. Yay!!

I confess, if I had my way, I’d be living in 65 to 75 degree temps year round. I can always put on more clothes if I get chilly, but you can only get SO naked, and if you’re still hot, you’re sunk! 😀 😀 😀

    • We’ll TAKE it!! 😂 We can always use rain, Janet, even when it’s cool outside. And the last few weeks have been pretty dry. Of course, there’s a hurricane bearing down on parts of the Gulf of Mexico, so I should be careful what I wish for. It looks like it’s gonna miss us as it aims for Texas, but you never know with those fickle storms! I don’t think I want quite THAT much rain, fingers crossed. 😀 ❤

  2. Best of luck, Marcia. Your health must come first, of course, so do what you need to.Wel’ll be hear when you get back.

I know what you mean about the heat. We’ve had excessive heat alerts here the last few days, and this morning started out in the 80s. I can’t wait for Fall, though I don’t want Winter because I hate the cold. I’d rather have the heat than the cold (though without the humidity).

    • I far prefer cooler (even cold) weather to warmer (or, gasp, HOT). So of course, I live in FLORIDA, where anything below 95 is considered chilly. Oh, well. Bloom where you’re planted, as they say. 😂 Thank heaven for a great a/c system! 😂 Stay cool, my friend! (I will if you will. 😀 )

  3. Of course we won’t forget about you! Are you kidding?? My suggestion: move to a colder climate, keep doing what your doctors say, and kick back! 🙂 Animal videos are great uplifters.

    • I’m pretty sure I’d already BE living in a colder climate if it were left up to MY preferences, Sue. But there’s no way I’ll ever get Mark out from under the palms. Believe it or not, I spent all day today juggling all my upcoming doctor appointments (NINE all told!), and now I just want to veg out in the Comfy Chair. A/C is cranked down and I have a small fan blowing directly on me, plus ceiling fans running in every room It’s at least bearable with all that!

And I’m glad to know you won’t forget me. I’ll be making a valiant effort to post something daily, too. (Just in case! 😀 ❤ )

    • Me either, and me too. (If that makes any sense. A/c is cranked down and I’ve been indoors for the last week or so, except for one very fast trip outside in the A.M. to water my roses. And to think I’m a Florida NATIVE! But I do hate this heat! We need to buy a cabin in the North Carolina cabins for the summers! 😀 ❤

    • I don’t do “sun” at all, even in the winter. Too many scars from skin cancer removals from my childhood when we were told it was HEALTHY to get a lot of sun! GAH!!

Thanks for the well wishes on my tests. Tomorrow, I’ll be fitted for a Holter monitor which fits kind of like a life jacket. I have to wear it for a week so they can get a good recording of what my heart’s doing throughout each day. Hopefully, it won’t be a bad report.
      😀 ❤

      • I’ve had to wear one before (back when my CFS was wreaking havoc on my body). At one point, they were considering putting me on a pace maker because my resting heart rate was in the low 40s (and I was in my late 30s/early 40s). They found I had bradycardia and later discovered my CFS. Since then, my CFS has gone dormant (thank goodness). I still deal with low metabolism, though. Sending good vibes your way that they find whatever is ailing you and that it’s easily fixable. XOXO 🙂

  4. Worry not, Marcia. You are not forgotten. Please take care of yourself and enjoy the comfy chair. I totally understand about all the doctor appointments. It’s been quite a year for many of us. Sending hugs and love – ❤️🤗❤️

    • I’m sorry to hear that, Gwen. I’ve been hoping I was the only one in our group of friends/followers who was going through all of that. Hope all is well or at least improving with EVERYONE! ❤️🤗 ❤️

    • I was raised in Florida way back BAC (Before Air Conditioning). Only rich folks had it in those days, and I can remember trying to fall asleep with a big bowl of ice cubes in front of a fan that was blowing across it onto my face throughout the night. It helped a WEE bit, but man, was I glad when a/c became the norm in most homes. And it’s been much hotter than 93 here, too. That was the temp when I awoke yesterday, but it climbed steadily upward all day. Sadly, it won’t cool down before late September/early October. BUT … we do have heavenly weather all winter long, so we have that to look forward to, at least. Good luck staying cool, Debby! 😀 ❤️
