#This&That&TheOtherThing – #Poetry – #Humor

Change of Pace today. Instead of a Classic poem of great beauty or deep meaning, I decided to share a poem I wrote myself, years ago. I had hoped to do a second book of my poetry and include it there, but that may or may not happen. So I figured, what the heck! I’m sharing the “profound truth” of it here  and now, and hope it makes you smile.

Things I Have Learned #1

TV ads we all endure
Proclaim loudly “We have the cure!”
You try it out, and find it’s good,
Why can’t they leave it as they should?
Beware the label “New and Improved,”
It really means you’ve just been scrooved.

And there you have my deepest thoughts
on television advertising and marketing in general!
Hope it inspired a chuckle or two.

    • Glad you agree with me, Craig. They never can seem to leave well enough alone, can they? As I said above, “if it ain’t broke, don’t FIX it!”

Thanks so much for stopping by this morning, and hope yo have a super Monday! 😀 ❤

    • Glad it made you laugh, Vera, even though the truth of it is so frustrating! Thanks so much for stopping by this morning and taking a moment to share your thoughts on this deeply profound (translation: truly irritating!) matter. Hope you have a wonderful Monday! 😀 ❤

    • Glad you liked it, and PERFECT example, Jeanne! Honestly, as I said above, “If it ain’t broke, don’t FIX it!” 😀 Seems pretty simple to me.

Thanks for stopping by this morning and I hope your Monday is a great one, my friend!

    • So glad you enjoyed it, Joan, and I’m guessing every single one of us has experienced this with favorite products of ours. Why do they have to make changes to something that already works great? *sigh* Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a wonderful Monday! 😀 ❤

    • Yep! My thoughts, exactly, Jan. (Or as we phrase it down here in the south, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!) 😂

Glad you agree on this one, and thanks so much for stopping by to share your thoughts. Hope your Monday is going GREAT! 😀 ❤

    • So glad you enjoyed this one, Trish, and thank you for the kind words about Summer Magic. I really did enjoy putting that together, and would like to do another one. Poems might be quicker and easier for me to handle than a full-length novel. Hmmmm …. doing some serious pondering here.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to share your thoughts, my friend. You may have inspired me to come up with a few more bits of doggerel here or there. Or even something on the more serious side. Hope you have a great day! 😀 ❤
