It’s Blog Break Thursday today, so I’m off to do something productive around the house. I’m actually going to try to do some weeding, but in this heat, I’ll need a wet rag on my head under my sun hat, plus my neckfan blowing on my face, and a beach umbrella. With all of the above, I might make it ten or fifteen minutes before I give up. Guess I’ll weed FAST!
You guys have a great day, and I’ll see you tomorrow for Granny Says!
And keep rehydrated! I know that sometimes you just have to do things in a timely manner, but don’t do more than you’re comfortable with. I wouldn’t be able to exist at all in that Florida heat! ❤ ❤ ❤

I pretty much stay inside during the summer, Trish. Not only is it too blinkin’ hot outside, but I am very susceptible to skin cancer, regardless of wearing 110spf sunblock and trying to stay in the shade. But the winter is bliss! Gardening at its best, and lovely, lovely weather most of the time. Even on days when there’s ice in the birdbath, it’s gone by midday and beautifully cool outside. So it all evens out, I reckon! And I’m done for the day. Made it almost 30 minutes before stopping, which was long enough to do the area I was hoping to finish. Now, I’m inside, cooling off, drinking lots of water, and planning to do VERY sedentary things for the rest of the day! Yay! 😀

Hope you had a great sedentary day – you’ve earned it!! 😀 ❤

Once I got done with the weeding, I definitely became sedentary for a good long while! Read, worked on some marketing graphics, etc. Today, I’ll put some mulch down over the area I weeded, but that is probably going to be IT for the physical labor. With a predicted high of 94 degrees, indoors sounds much better! 😀 ❤

Even 15 minutes of weeding is productive when it comes to pesky weeds!

It is, and I made it almost 30! I cleared the whole area I wanted to, and just in time to dunk my head under the hose, then stagger inside to the heavenly a/c!! That’s it for me for the physical stuff today. Everything else I plan to do can be done while seated at my computer. Yay! 😀 ❤

Having just returned from Florida, I can attest to the intensity of the heat, but honestly, I think it’s hotter in Texas. Ugh! Hard to be outside at all!

I suspect Texas is hotter, but probably dryer. The humidity in Florida is a killer, as much as the heat. When it’s 95 degrees out and so muggy your skin feels damp, it’s just terrible. But honestly, I’d rather be in the North Carolina mountains than either Florida or Texas. It gets hot in the summer, but there’s always a handy waterfall you can stand under! 😂😂😂 I wondered how you’d fare in this weather when I saw you were visiting Disney, but let’s face it. July is hot pretty much everywhere, I think. Can’t wait for fall! 😀 ❤

Since it reaches 100 and plus most afternoons, my weeding is very neglected. It’s all I can do to keep up with the watering!

We haven’t hit 100 here (YET), but we’ve had 99 degree days at least six or eight times over the last couple of weeks. I’m with YOU, Rae. Weeds can take over the whole yard before I’m going out to work in that! Glad you’re staying inside and keeping cool, too! 😀 ❤

I’ve been waiting until the evening to harvest cherry tomatoes, but even then I sweat buckets. Stay cool, Marcia!

I’m workin’ on it, Teri! You, too! (Thank heavens for the glory of air conditioning, eh?) 😀 ❤

Arg! Stay inside Marcia! It’s 100 here, I can only imagine the temps there. ❤

Too late! I managed to stay out there for about 30 minutes, and was able to finish the section I’d hope to get done. Then I came inside and collapsed, and pretty much did nothing the rest of the day. Not going out there today, either! A Florida gal’s best friend is her air conditioner! 😀 ❤

Omg, you are bad. But, you played with fire and got burned and learned. LOL. Stay cool! 🙂 xx

Actually, with 110spf sunblock, the beach umbrella, a wide-brimmed sunhat, and a neck fan blowing cool air on my face, I didn’t get burned. 😁 But I still got HOT, and knew when I’d had enough. I was pretty pleased that I’d been able to withstand the heat for 30 minutes, and knew when it was time to quit before I got sick from it. So, I count it as a good day. But I wont push my luck for now. Doing inside work for the next week or so, at least. 😀
