Happy Tewe’s Day, Everybody!
Just wanted to take a few minutes to let you know that I’m in the process of getting this blog back on track. I apologize for being absent a good deal of the time lately, but I’m almost caught up again. At least my life feels more like the usual harried rushing around and putting out fires than the totally out of control mess it’s been for at least six months. It’s definitely time for me to wrangle all these distractions and problems into something a bit more doable Or at least a bit more enjoyable!
One of the first things I want to do is get back to some of the regular features here on The Write Stuff that have fallen through the cracks as life went sideways. Yeah, it’s still at least somewhat sideways, but I think I’m going to be able to accomplish more than I have recently.
To start with,Β I want to bring back #ShareAReviewDay Tuesdays. Only better. I’ll think of a new name soon. Probably.Β But I want to open Tuesdays up for guest bloggers, with or without reviews. If you have anything you’d like to share here on The Write Stuff, be it a super new review, an upcoming release, a promo, or the like, Tuesdays will be the best day to do so. (This doesn’t mean that you can never visit on another day. Just that Tuesdays will be set aside for guests and their news.) I’m even planning on putting together some fun interviews for guest bloggers who might just be looking for a way to let others know more about them. Stay tuned for more on that.
I think #FirstLineFridays will go to a twice a month feature. Not ready to retire it yet, because there are so many wonderful opening lines for us to enjoy and learn from.
Thursdays are still good for #ThorsDaySmiles when I have something good to share with you, but I’m also thinking of indulging myself on Thursday afternoons. This might be a post on favorite topics of mine, like Florida wildlife and habitats, an update on my current WIP, or whatever else strikes my fancy.Β
Of course, I will continue to share posts from other blogs, too, especially those from my friends at Story Empire, weekly roundup posts from Smorgasbord, and any others I think will make an interesting or amusing reblog. And I have an idea for something brand new for Sundays, though I’m not ready to reveal that yet. π
In general, my goal is to get back to a more active, entertaining, and useful blog. It might not happen all at once, as I still have a backlog of things to take care of. But it will happen!Β
Now, with that in mind, if you have something you’d like to share on the new Tuesday feature, please feel free to email me. (Contact info and Blog Rules in the header above). I’m looking at starting this feature back up in September, as I have a couple of other things going for the remainder of this month.
I hope this all sounds good to you, and that you’ll enjoy the old features returning and the revised or brand new ones, as well. Let me know your thoughts below, and feel free to email me any time with ideas, suggestions, or things you’d like to share.Β
Sounds great, Marcia. Best wishes with everything π

Sounds like you are back on track. Hey, there’s been a pandemic going on. Nothing is normal. Sending hugs. Xo

You got that right, Darlene! Nothing in my life has been normal except living it at home for six months. And then there’s the almost hurricane, which we escaped, thankfully, but the good folks of North Carolina did not. π¦ Then there are ongoing health issues and who know what else! I’m tired of being swept along by things I have no control over, so I’m STANDING UP, by golly, and taking back my life. Even if it’s a slightly altered version, it’s still mine, and I want to do at least some things MY way. So there, world! π π π Track. Me. Together again! π

Sounds great, Marcia. You have quite a broad range of interests represented in your plans. It should be quite entertaining and informative.

Most of these are features I’ve run regularly in the past, but haven’t had time to keep up lately. Wish me luck that I’ve found it now. π Hope you’ll enjoy them and will take part in them. (Like maybe on September 1? ) π

Goals are good. They remind us that we’re on a journey of growth. Happy blogging, writing, reading, and everything.:-)

Thanks, Priscilla! Sometimes it’s a struggle to meet them, but goals are what keep us going on this journey, as you say. π I’m not ready to hit the rocking chair yet. π

I am glad you are feeling more on top of things, Marcia. I just seem to be sinking deeper and deeper into things I need to do.

I’m sorry to hear that, Robbie, and hope things ease for you soon. Stress was eating me alive here, and hampering my efforts to do everything in my life. I just decided I HAD to get the upper hand, so I did away with some things to lessen my load, then focused on catching up enough to gain some control again. It helped a lot to realize I was putting these burdens on myself most of the time, and it was all right to letr some of them go. Prioritizing was key for me. Now to see if I can make my decisions stick. π Good luck with your situation.

My workload isn’t within my control really, so it is a bit different. I am glad I have a job though. Lots of people have lost their jobs.

Yes, that is a HUGE blessing! Mark is still working, too, and both my daughter & my son have continued to work throughout, along with their spouses. Good news, even though times are hard. π

This has been such a crazy year. Looking forward to your regular posts. I too am trying to get back “in the groove” with blogging.

I know, Joan. It feels like it has run over us roughshod, for sure. If it isn’t this, it’s that, and a lot of it has been awful. BUT. We’re still standin’! And, can’t speak for you, of course, but I’m still crazy after all these years! π β€

I’m trying to make my own blog a bit more regular too (sounds like somthing from a fiber cereal commercial), but I’m worried if I commit to something, when life throws up a curveball in a few months time I won’t be able to continue it.
At least I’ve got Marcia’s place to come for a regular fix.

Always happy to do my duty by you, Jessica! π I hope you are able to keep up with your own blog plans, though, just because it’s a good idea, I think. BUT, I also think your followers will understand when interruptions occur. It happens. We are all stretched too thin at times. Good luck, though! (And I’ll need the same, for sure.) π

You’re ahead of me in the regaining-the-strands-of-life stakes, Marcia! You’ve also had a great deal more than me to cope with, too. We don’t have hurricanes here, for a start. Really looking forward to a return of those features I love, but please don’t bust a gut to do them. They should be a pleasure and if something comes up that needs your attention, pause the other commitments without regret.
Some of your positivity has rubbed off and I’m off now to tackle a tricky plotline! β€

Yay! So glad you’re feeling more positive, Trish. I keep trying, though trust me, I have days when I slump. (Almost clear down to the floor). It’s a hard time for all of us, and we have to work at finding the bright points and remembering to be grateful for what we have.
I’m glad you’re looking forward to the return of some of my regular features. I’m going to do my best to bring them back online (literally), one or two at a time. And if I have a week wherein it’s not possible for me to get to them, I’ll post a quick note to explain, and then put it aside. You are right there should be no gut-busting over a shortage of time. π
Thanks for your support as always, my friend! Wish it were safe to fly across the ocean so I could give you a hug. But then, it’s not safe to do THAT either. YET. Someday, though ………… β€

Youβre energy is inspiring. Iβve let my place lax a bit, too, but life hasnβt been that interesting in 2020. Looking forward to all your features.

Thanks so much, Craig. I’m TRYING to lift myself up out of the sea of despair I see all around, and think positively. When I do that, I realize it’s easier to find the energy to tackle things I want to do. Time is still an issue, but not insurmountable most weeks.
I see posts from your blog come through all the time, and wish I could get to them all. Some days, I can and some days, I have to skip a LOT of blogs I enjoy! π¦ But I’m working on doing better with that, too. We’ll see. Having said that, with as many stories in the works as you have, I can’t believe you find time to blog at all. Now THAT takes energy, my friend. And funny, I think YOUR energy is inspiring! π
Keep up the good work! And thanks for stopping by! π
