And here we are, folks–one week closer to the release of Peace Talks, Book 16 in the Dresden Files series. If you’ve visited here in the last two weeks, you’ll know I am counting the days, and celebrating each passing week with a few Harry Dresden tidbits, pictures, and quotes. Obsessive? Yeah, maybe. BUT! We’re talking a SIX-year drought for Dresden fans, here! And now, with Peace Talks coming out on July 14 and Battle Ground on September 29, it’s suddenly MONSOON time. I think that’s worthy of great celebration, so here goes:
Dresden Files Cover of the Week
(May as well start with #1 and work our way up to #16!)
This is actually one of my favorite covers, featuring that determined jaw line Harry is famous for. I like the moody colors, too, and the hint of a gritty Chicago street in the background.
A Dresden Files Mini-Quiz
Last week, I mentioned three possible pets for Harry, but only two were correct, and even those, I reversed the names on, just to see if you were paying attention. The correct answer was that he lived with an enormous dog named Mouse and a long-haired cat named Mister. Now for today’s question. What breed of dog is Mouse? (No prizes here. Just a fun bit of trivia. Guess all you want in the comments.)
And Last …
Our Dresden Files Graphic of the Day
And that’s this weeks Countdown to Peace Talks post, folks! Hope you enjoyed it. And if you haven’t started reading this series yet, you really should. But just remember:
How about a German shepherd? Are you laughing? Well, if I haven’t actually read any books in this series, I haven’t a clue.:-) But your enthusiasm is contagious!

I love that you’re always game to give things a try, Priscilla. And that’s a reasonable guess. But alas, not quite weird enough for Harry. Think bigger. MUCH, MUCH bigger! 😀
And thanks for stopping by. Before the final post arrives, maybe I’ll have made a convert out of you. 😀 (My wicked plan revealed!)

Yay! I KNEW you’d know, Jeanne! And I have some great pictures of Foo dogs, too, but have never been able to post pics in my replies here. Guess I’ll have to either do a Follow Up post or wait until next week. (I’m not really a “wait until next week” kinda person, so I’ll probably do a follow up post, just for fun.) Even non-Dresden Files fans would probably enjoy seeing some.
Glad you enjoyed the graphic. I thought it was clever and funny, too. Thanks for stopping by today, and I’ll be back next week with more. It’s the only way I can stay sane until I get my hands on this book, which I have already ordered in both print and Kindle formats (After all this time, it’d BETTER be good!) 😀 ❤

Thanks so much for sharing my excitement, Don! These countdown posts are the only thing keeping me from going crazy while I wait for this book!! (Can you tell?) As always, I appreciate your sharing! You’e the BEST!
On a totally unrelated topic, do you have any videos (You Tube or the like) of you playing the piano? I would love to see some. Just curious, and I remember how you said staying home has made you miss it. I hope it won’t be much longer. 🙂

You’re welcome. No videos of me actually playing, but on my YouTube channel, I’ve been posting some music I’ve recorded on my keyboard. I am actually going to post about it when I get more songs up there, but there are a few now.

Good to know! I look forward to hearing you play, and eventually, seeing you play! 🙂

Wow – six years. That’s a long time to wait in between books – and I complain if I have to wait a one year!

Yep, that’s why I’m doing the countdown. Even I don’t usually make this kind of production out of a new release in a favorite series. But, I’ve been along for the ride on this one through 15 books, one after the other, with reasonable time in between. Then, nothing. Nada. Crickets. So this is BIG news, especially since the 15th book left a LOT of things hanging in mid-air. I’d never forgive Butcher for this, if I wasn’t so happy with him for creating a character like Harry to begin with. 😀 So, stay tuned. There will be more photos, more tidbits, and more funny things, too. 😀 And then, champagne all around when the book is finally in my hot little hands. 😀

I think I got up to Small Favor, so I have a few left to enjoy. Your enthusiasm is contagious.

I take it back. I see Fool Moon as the undead title on my app. I’m close to being caught up.

Fool Moon is the second book in the series. Small Favor is #10. So now you have me totally confused, even though I understood the undead/unread thingie. 😀 But either way, I’m glad my enthusiasm is contagious! And I truly HOPE Peace Talks turns out to be amazing, and totally worth the wait. 😀

Mouse is an awesome Foo dog, temple guardian and all-around lovey! The closest thing I could find when I searched for images (way back when) was a Tibetan mastiff. I don’t remember which book it was, but I remember when Harry loaded the litter into the pockets of his leather duster and high-tailed his escape. Mouse was the runt of the litter, If I remember right. One of my favorite scenes. And LOVE the graphic! So absolutely fitting!

Yep, some pics of Mouse coming up tomorrow, in fact. I think I read something about a Tibetan mastiff, too. Whatever he is, he’s AWESOME! And the graphic cracked me up. I have 2 more similar ones, and they’re pretty cute, too. 😀 Thanks for stopping by Julie, but of course tomorrow, we’ll have gotten a full week closer! Yay! 😀
