NOTE: Mary Smith is absolutely thrilled to find Donkey Boy & Other Stories is a finalist in Rosie Amber’s book awards for 2017. It’s in the General Contemporary Fiction category along with some awesome titles. Having her book chosen out of the hundreds Rosie review team has read throughout the year is amazing. It’s now up to the reading public to vote and Mary would love it if you could vote for Donkey Boy & Other Stories. You can also vote in the other categories also featuring great titles.

    • My pleasure, Rosie! There are a lot of great books/authors for folks to vote for, and of course, our friend Mary Smith is one of them! Sorry I was late reblogging it, but I am not yet back to my full energy level, and had an event to prepare for and hold yesterday. (Wah, wah, waaaahhh. She’s whining again!)
Seriously, I’m feeling more like my old self each day, and slowly catching up.

Wishing all your nominees the best of luck!! 🙂

    • I’m so glad you are enjoying it, Robbie. And looks can be deceiving, though off-hand, I’d say it was probably inspired by my uncle, the serial killer, my nephew, the albino, and my aunt, the man hater. Alas, I have no gorgeous, 6’5″ Vikings in my family tree. More’s the pity.

Okay, I totally made up all of the above, in case you didn’t guess. Plus, I made up all of the stuff in the book, too. Except for the nature-related things. I do know a fair amount about Florida’s wildlife and habitat.

I’ll be interested in your thoughts on the audio version of the book, when you finish, as well as on the story line. 🙂 Happy Reading!

  1. Feeling virtuous – I voted already.
It was such a great feeling last year when Prince’s Man won its category, I wanted to help others win theirs, and I voted in several categories, including Mary’s (which, of course, was my choice in that one).
The neat heart-shaped button from my win sits proudly on several places on my website. Hope Mary gains hers 😀

  2. Thank you! I didn’t see this. Headed over there. Wow. So many amazing books here. I’ve got a lot of these on my TBR list and others waiting on my kindle. Congrats to Mary and all the authors nominated. What a huge honor from RBRT.
