It’s here at last! That Darkest Place: Riverbend Book 3 is now available on Kindle, and will soon be out in print. And I’m so excited, I’m running a One Week Only sale on it, and ALL of my other books, as well. Yep, my characters are celebrating from Riverbend, Florida, all the way to Wake-Robin Ridge, North Carolina! The Painter Brothers, Maggie & Gunn, Sarah & Mac, and even Little Rabbit are putting out the word that this is the best deal you’ll get all year, and a chance to begin each series from the beginning, if you haven’t already done so.
Starting today, and continuing through Sunday, 5/21, you can download my books at the following prices:
That Darkest Place: Riverbend Book 3 – $2.99
Finding Hunter: Riverbend Book 2 – $.99
Swamp Ghosts: Riverbend Book 1 – $.99
Harbinger: Riverbend Book 3 – $.99
A Boy Named Rabbit: Wake-Robin Ridge Book 2 – $.99
Wake-Robin Ridge Book 1 – $.99
That Darkest Place Blurb
“There are dark places in every heart, in every head. Some you turn away from. Some you light a candle within. But there is one place so black, it consumes all light. It will pull you in and swallow you whole. You don’t leave your brother stranded in that darkest place.” ~Hunter Painter~
The new year is a chance for new beginnings—usually hopeful, positive ones. But when Jackson Painter plows his car into a tree shortly after midnight on January 1, his new beginnings are tragic. His brothers, Forrest and Hunter, take up a grim bedside vigil at the hospital, waiting for Jackson to regain consciousness and anxious over how he’ll take the news that he’s lost a leg and his fiancée is dead. After all, the accident was all his fault.
As the shocking truth emerges, one thing becomes obvious—Jackson will need unconditional love and support from both of his brothers if he is to survive.
Just as he begins the long road to recovery, danger, in the form of a sinister, unsigned note, plunges him back into bleak despair. Scrawled in blood red letters, the accusation—and the threat—is clear. “MURDERER!”
Will the long, harrowing ordeal that lies ahead draw the Painter brothers closer together, or drive them apart forever?
Suspenseful and often heartbreaking, this small-town tale is a testimonial to the redemptive power of love and paints a story filled with humor, romance, and fierce family loyalty.

I hope you’ll share my good news far and wide! Shout it from the rooftops. Have a t-shirt made. Hire a skywriter. Okay, maybe not. But I’d love it if you’d share this post via social media, and help me get the word out. I thank you, Forrest and Hunter thank you, but most of all, Jackson Painter thanks you. He spent a long, long time in a very bad situation, waiting for me to return to Riverbend, and now he wants his story told. 😀
While you’re helping spread the word, you really should swing by Amazon and grab your copy, too.
And now, it’s back to work for me. So many stories, so little time!
Congratulations!! How wonderful. I will spread the word. Love the gif. How did you manage to get your picture in it?

Thanks, Darlene! I appreciate your help. As for the ani, instead of Outlook, I used to use an email client called IncrediMail, which let users make all sorts of animations. Thankfully, I saved mine to a desktop folder, because I can’t use it any more. (It doesn’t work well with my ISP any longer.) But I still have a lot of the animations. I miss that program, though. It was much more user-friendly than Outlook, which is why I now use gmail. But that’s beside the point. 😀 So excited about this book, and I’m very grateful for any help you can give me in getting the word out! 🙂

I once used IncrediMail as well. I, however, did not save any animations. Exciting times for you!!

Aw, I’m sorry you lost them. I made a ton of my own, and made a bunch more for friends, too. I’m not sure why I thought to save them all to a desktop folder, but I’m glad I did. 🙂 And yes, I’m plenty excited about this one. But also eager to start my next project. Something a bit different for me, this time. Will post about it soon.

Congratulations, Marcia. I hope it does well for you. Is this one a stand alone or part of a series?

It’s Riverbend Book 3, and takes up right where Finding Hunter left off. (It’s part of the book title, so anyone looking to buy it will see it, I hope. It’s also on the book cover.) So far, my books have all been either part of my mountain series, or part of my Riverbend series. I’m getting ready to write a novella, though, which will be a “Riverbend novella,” but will work as a stand-alone, I think. And thanks for your well wishes. I really hope readers enjoy this one. It was a challenge to put together everything I wanted to include, but hopefully, I did it well. Got my first review already, and it was a 5-star, so I’m feeling optimistic.

Time? What is this “time” of which you speak? I seem to remember that term meaning something once, but I can no longer recall what it was. 😯

Congrats, Marcia. I’ll certainly purchase a copy.

Aw, thanks so much! I hope you enjoy it. It picks up right where Finding Hunter leaves off, and tells the story of the OTHER two Painter brothers. Thanks for the congratulations, and have a great day!

Happy book birthday, Marcia! I grabbed my copy on pre-order, and also have Finding Hunter on my Kindle and TBR. I’ll be catching up with the Painter boys as soon as I can wallop my TBR into manageable submission. Happy to spread the news for you!

If you can spare a wallop for my TBR pile, I’ll be ever so appreciative! 😀 And thanks for spreading the news, Mae! You know how much I appreciate that. Now to put together the print version, before my local readers rise up in the dead of night, and come for me, carrying pitchforks and flaming torches! 😯

Yay! Thanks so much, Terri! Hope you’ll enjoy this one. It picks up right where Finding Hunter left off. (I promised Forrest & Jackson I’d come back to Riverbend and sort out the mess I’d made of THEIR lives, while I was busy fixing Hunter’s. 😀 ) So nice to know you’ve added it to your TBR list, and I can’t wait to hear what you think. 😀

Thanks so much, Deb! I’m so glad you have it in your TBR list! 🙂 (You did notice that all the WRR books were on sale, too, right? Rabbit and Harbinger, as well? Just checkin’!) I thank you for the well wishes, and hope you are exactly right. Many sales and happy readers would be wonderful! 🙂 ❤

You deserve it my friend. And yes, I had Harbinger from months ago but didn’t have Rabbit which I want to read first, so I grabbed it. 🙂 ❤

OH, yes. You MUST read Rabbit before Harbinger, or you won’t know what that little boy can do, and why. 😀 Hope you’ll enjoy them when you find time to read them. I think Rabbit has a special place in my readers’ hearts. I KNOW he does in MINE. 😀 ❤

I can’t wait to see how you feel about Little Rabbit. 😀 That boy lives in my head ALL THE TIME. He’s always telling me this or that, or commenting on things he’s never seen before. Luckily, he’s pretty good company. Hahaha.

Sorry. No cousins. (As you’ll find out when you work your way down through your TBR list). 😀
