What a great group of ladies joined me yesterday for our tea and luncheon at DeBary Hall Historic Site! They were very forgiving of their heavily medicated and somewhat “croaky” hostess, and were an especiallyย engaging group. Nothing like spending time with fellow readers! (It’s especially exciting when MY books are among the things they read, ๐ !)
Truly, they made the afternoon so much fun, I almost forgot how sick I’ve been. Loved meeting every single one of them, and hope they enjoyed themselves as much as I did!
My heartfelt thanks to DeBary Hall for giving us such a beautiful venue to hold these very special events, and to each of the lovely ladies who attended yesterday! Can’t wait to do it again, hopefully this fall.

Thanks, Sara. I AM better, but boy, I’ve got a way to go, yet. I thought I’d be mostly over it by today, but noooo. Here I am, dragging around in slow motion and still coughing my head off. ๐ฆ BUT. Every little improvement counts, so I’m hoping for better tomorrow.

Too right! We are as tenacious as the characters we write about. Wonder where we get our inspiration… ๐

They were a wonderful group, and I’m so glad I made it through the day. Collapsed after getting home, and dragging today, but still better than earlier in the week. So hopefully, each day will show more improvement. Thanks, Liz!

And they are SO nice, too, Darlene. The staff is great at helping you get things all set up, and making sure all the guests are happy. I love working with them! On May 20, I’ll be back again, this time in the theater, doing my Swamp Ghosts/Habitat & Wildlife presentation. That is the most fun of anything that doesn’t include FOOD. ๐ ๐ ๐

Glad it went well! And that you are on the mend. I hate those coughs that linger forever.

They were a lovely group, Kass, and I’m so glad I was well enough to make it happen. I hope I get a chance to see them all gain when I’m at 100%. (Maybe next month for my Swamp Ghosts slide show, also at DeBary Hall.) In the meantime, I enjoyed meeting them all, even though I fell face down on the bed when I got home. Today, I’m definitely better. If that’s not a light at the end of the tunnel, it’s at least a hazy glow. ๐

I’m glad to hear you’re recovering, Marcia — despite the croaky voice. Sounds like a great tea!

Thank you, Cynthia! I’m really glad I was able to make it, and that everyone seemed to have a good time. Certainly, the food was lovely, even if the “hostess” was a bit croaky. ๐ I do love these teas! ๐

It IS a beautiful place, Toni, and they have been very good to me. I generally do several events a year there (5 scheduled for 2017), along with a few other venues around the area, and I always enjoy each one. Next month, I have a PowerPoint slide show about using the St. Johns River Basin and its wildlife as the setting for a romantic suspense novel. It’s my favorite program to do (that doesn’t include FOOD!), and has always been a lot of fun. I love meeting readers, for sure!! ๐

Thanks, Deb. It was a good time, with lots of laughter, so I hope that means they all enjoyed it as much as I did. ๐ I feel much better, though I’m still coughing. Can’t wait for that to stop!

Glad to hear you’re coughing better, lol, kidding. And of course you made them laugh, that’s you Marsh! ๐

OH, yeah, I’ve perfected this cough, for sure. I’m making coughing an art form. ๐ And yep. Laughing is a good thing. If the group isn’t laughing enough, I’m not doing my job. ๐
