Although I write mostly for children, I have written several short stories for adults. With Christmas less than two weeks away, I thought I’d share a Christmas story
I wrote that was published online and in an anthology by Alfie Dog Fiction (www.alfiedog.com). The story is in my latest blog titled “A Christmas Romance—The Blue Christmas Tree.” You can find it at www.elizabethvollstadt.blogspot.com

Read, commented, pinned and shared. 🙂

Thanks for sharing with us, Liz. Heading over to read the story shortly, and will share from your blog, though I did tweet this post, too. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! (And I have a blue Christmas tree, too. 😀 )

Well, once again, I can’t comment on your page, sorry. No matter which wordpress ID I use, it won’t let me. But I loved the story (and promise you that MY blue tree is full of love and special ornaments, and goes along with my four other trees, and ornaments I’ve collected for over 50 years.) I was rooting for your couple to make good their escape! Well done.

After reading your first comment, I was about to say, “Oops, maybe you better not read the story.” But it sounds like your blue tree is “real.” About commenting on my blog, do you have a google account? That’s how I work with blogs on the blogspot platform. But I’ll check it out, too.

I have seen blue trees, pink trees, purple trees, and traditionally colored trees that didn’t have a sign of warmth and love to them. I think no matter the color of the tree or decorations, what makes a Christmas tree real is the love that goes into trimming it. I like to think that part shows with all of my trees, from the tiny Santa tree in the guest bath, straight through to the biggest and shiniest of them. I love every ornament I hang on the tree (otherwise, it wouldn’t be there), and some of mine are very, VERY old. I have some truly ratty looking pipe cleaner ornaments that were on our tree when I was about 6 years old. Only love is holding them together, but they go on my main tree every year. “Decorator” trees may be beautiful, but I think that’s what they’re missing. At least, for me.
Your blog offers me the option to sign in from my wordpress account. But it won’t accept any of the URLS I enter. I’m probably doing something wrong. Will check it out again later, and comment if I can get it to work. 🙂

Hi, Marsha! Wow, it has been a long time, hasn’t it? I was surprised to see your name show up today in Deb’s post, and REALLY enjoyed your explanations of alt tags, etc. I’m going to reblog it here, later.
This past month has been a bit slow for my own posts, as Christmas and a missed deadline for Novel #6 (That Darkest Place) have taken over my life, but it will soon be getting back to normal. We have a lot of great members who share things here regularly, even though this is a slow time of year for all of us. So nice of you to stop by, and I hope you’ll be a regular here now, too. 🙂

Well, at least all my deadlines are self-imposed, so I won’t get fired or anything. 😀 But I DO try to meet them, when possible, because I have a long-term plan, and falling behind messes it up. Oh, well. I also have to be flexible when Life throws me curveballs, so that’s where I am right now. Just doing the best I can to get this book done, even if it comes in much later than I ever expected.
Glad to have you here! 🙂
