D. G. Kaye has a lovely interview with Deborah Jay that you really should check out. Both of these Debs are good friends of authors everywhere, and contribute to The Write Stuff on aย regular basis, and now I’m planning a future trip to Scotland, for sure. (Be afraid, Deborah Jay. Be veeeerrrry afraid!) ๐
I’ve already downloaded my copy of The Prince’s Son. Very much looking forward to reading it!

Marcia, I’d luuuurrrve to see you in the Highlands, to show off our wonderful countryside, and all those men in kilts!
I can handle it – can you????

Good question. Thinking, thinking . . . I say, YES! If I get too over-excited, I’ll just lose myself in the splendor of the countryside, until my heart calms down again. ๐ I’ll pace myself, too, and not ogle too many kilted laddies at once, taking frequent breaks for things to distract me, like Nessie . . . or haggis. (I’ve heard THAT can be pretty distracting, and not necessarily in a good way. ๐ )

You’ve heard wrong – haggis is a phenomenally tasty dish, and so many ways to combine it with other foods – yum!

That’s what folks in North Carolina tried to tell me about livermush, too. They lied! It was even worse than I’d heard!! So . . . I’m going to reserve judgement on haggis, but I’ll tell you going in, I don’t eat organ meat (no liver, kidneys, stomach, tripe, chitterlings – called chitlin’s, down here – brains, or tongue.) RIGHT out. Muscle meat only, thanks. ๐
And I’ve read probably 300 testimonials on the taste of haggis. You are probably only the third person I’ve heard say it’s good. So, while I’ll give it a look-see, and the “sniff test,” I’m not guaranteeing I’ll try it. No offense, but when I come to visit, that’s going to be waaaaaaaaaaaaay down on my list of things to do in Scotland. ๐ ๐ ๐ I’m not hard to please, though. If I veto haggis, and it’s main course on the menu, I’ll just eat the vegetables or side dishes.
I do love Scotch eggs, though I don’t even know if that’s an authentic Scottish thing. In fact, I could eat eggs three meals a day, and do just fine. See? Easy. Mostly. ๐

Oh, and just so you don’t start panicking, I haven’t taken a trip in so long, I don’t even own luggage anymore. So, while I’m DREAMING of the fun we’d have gallivantin’ around Scotland, I’m not packing yet. ๐

๐ I’ll let you off – there are plenty of other great things about Scotland – like men in kilts. Did we mention them already??? ๐

Ummm. Men in kilts, you ask? *Thinking, here* You know, we MAY have mentioned them. The words “men” and “kilts” sound very familiar to me. Maybe I’d better run over to Pinterest and do a search for some photos. *snort!*
