#MidWeekPOV – Thank You! #wwwblogs

Some Days, I Need All the Legs I Can Get!
Extra Hands Would be Good, Too!

Just want to say thank you to everyone who shared the news about #MysteryGoneMad, which is moving along very quickly, AND to all of you who have contacted me about my recent post on Sharing. I’ve been reminding folks regularly that this blog is for ALL of us, but something struck a chord this time. I’ve been inundated with wonderful emails from followers who would like to let the world know about their work, and  we have some great guest posters coming up in the days ahead!

My Wednesday POV?  Here it is: Writers are the most supportive and encouraging group of people  in the world! Yes, I’ve said it before, but it’s STILL my POV, so it’s worth repeating. We share our news, and then we share the news of others. It’s what The Write Stuff is all about!

Thank you ALL for everything you do to help spread the word! And stay tuned for a brand new guest poster on Friday!

Sharing Janet Gogerty’s Great 5* Review of Wake-Robin Ridge

One of the best things about The Write Stuff is the way our fellow writers and readers support each other. In addition to all the friendships and  helpful advice engendered here, this blog encourages the sharing and promoting of all our talented authors. Janet posted this review in the Comments section of Rosie’s post on August Reviews, and I just wanted to share it with all of you as a reminder of the ways we help each other. (And because it’s a terrific review, too. THANK YOU, Janet!) Enjoy!

Even the two dogs will steal your heart in this gripping story.

‘A great story teller’ was my first impression as I quickly got into this story, or rather two interwoven tales. I enjoy novels set in more than one time and in this book the chapter headings helpfully tell us when and where we are. I have never been to the USA and if I ever get there I would rather visit Wake-Robin Ridge than Disneyland! This is a rounded tale, a romance and ghost story, but also a delightful journey to a beautiful part of the USA. Two very different love stories and four very different lives. I was so involved, that half way through the novel I thought I had misread that it was also a ghost story, so when the first paranormal event occurred it came as a complete shock. Without giving anything away, the description of that first night of terror was more vivid than any horror movie. If I did visit the Blue Ridge Mountains, I would certainly not stay by myself! I look forward to reading more by this author.

Just wanted to start this week with a big THANK YOU (See, all caps. Big.) to everyone who participated in our extended #ExcerptWeek. This was the most successful one, ever, I think, and it’s all because you guys got brave enough to share your work (published or not) with us, AND you shared everyone’s posts with your online groups. Which brings me to the second part of this post.

The Write Stuff was always meant to be a place for writers to share WITH each other (resources, questions, tips) and ABOUT each other. Please remember to Tweet, Reblog, and post on Facebook or your other social media sites. Sharing what others have posted here is how we promote each other, and grow this blog. AND, you can always share any post on the blog at any time. If you forgot to pass something along during #ExerptWeek, for instance, it’s still here. You can still share it.

So, recapping here, thanks to each of you wonderful writers, readers, and bloggers, AND above all, please continue to share!  We’ll do the same for you.

Now. As you were, folks. Have a wonderful week!

#MidWeekPOV – Gratitude – #wwwblogs

In today’s crazy, dangerous world, sometimes it’s hard to remember to be grateful for all we have. I know I’m guilty of being upset about the negative things that show up, uninvited, and forgetful of the good things I have around me every day. Even the roof over my head and food on my table puts me in a better place than the majority of people on this planet, and that’s the unvarnished truth.

Every morning when I get up, I do try to remember to be grateful for all I have–family, friends, remarkably good health for someone my age, and a new path in my life that has brought me so much joy. But some mornings are more difficult than others. Getting out of bed stirs up a few aches and pains, and it’s harder to remember to say thank you. And then, you find something like this.

(Completely unretouched or Photoshopped, I swear!)

If a rainbow on your library floor isn’t a “gentle” reminder to express gratitude, I don’t know what is. So today, I simply want to say thank you to everyone who is dear to me, and that includes all my wonderful online friends!

You guys make Life so much better. And you ROCK, too!

Thank You & Some News

A big thank you to everyone who participated in #ExcerptWeek, whether by sharing some of your work, or by taking the time to read, comment on, and pass along  the work of others. It was a great week, and I had such a fun time seeing what you’ve all written. We’ll do it again soon.

In the meantime, please don’t forget that  this is a community board, and you are encouraged to share excerpts, promos, news, resources, ideas, and questions any time you want. The more the better. An active blog draws more eyes, and as writers, eyes are what we want, right? So post often, and remember to share what you read here, thanks.

Now for the news. I’m planning several new things for this blog, and one of them is Fabulous Friday Guest Bloggers. Starting this Friday, I’ll be hosting guest bloggers, as you probably figured out from that title, as often as I can find folks who want to participate. I’m probably going to surprise you by not announcing who my guest will be until Thursday, so stay tuned for that news. Hope this will be something you’ll all enjoy. I know I’m going to!

And that’s it for now. Will post my #RomancingSeptember links shortly. Have a great week, everyone.

Thank You All!

Thanks so much to everyone who took part in Excerpt Week. It was a lot of fun to see what everyone was working on, or what they’ve already published. I hope you got a lot of new exposure, and had a good time sharing! Remember, while the occasional Excerpt Week is a good way to draw in new folks, you are heartily encouraged to share excerpts of your work on this blog ANY time you wish. It’s always a treat, and always welcome!

Now…back to your writing, editing, publishing, marketing, submitting, and otherwise, creating good things. Whichever hat you’re wearing today, I hope the hours go by smoothly, and at the end of the day, you have that lovely sense of accomplishment that makes it all worthwhile.

Good Morning!

First, a big thank you to those who have already followed me. You will forever more be known as the ones who have been here since the very first day, and I’m so grateful for your support.

Second, you may have noticed that I changed the name of the blog already. 🙂 WordPress assured me that I didn’t need to overthink the name while setting things up, and could change it later, so I have. I wanted to better reflect what the blog is about, namely writing and writers. Including me, of course, so I’m in the tag line, since all of my book info, news, updates, and excerpts will be here now. But I want this to be about other writers, as well. Especially, though not limited to, those newbies out there who are looking for as much exposure as possible. I will be offering that for them, via updates, guest bloggers, discussions, and more.

I also want to have a bit of a “forum” aspect here, so writers can talk to other writers about things related to…well…writing, of course. Exchanges of ideas, tips, and so forth, with a good helping of fun thrown in, because that’s just the way I roll. 😀

Let me know what you think of the new name, and when I get back home later today, I’ll have some new posts for you. In the meantime, have a great day, and don’t forget to write! (And if you are a follower who doesn’t write, don’t forget to READ. You are the ones we do it all for!)
