Such a deal, right? ๐Ÿ˜€ Offer good for a limited time only, as they say, so I hope you’ll take advantage while you can. And I also hope you’ll share the news of this sale far and wide. I don’t do this very often, but I thought it might be helpful to lots of folks trying to stave off boredom during their enforced vacations at home. I know I’ve been taking advantage of sales everywhere, and not just on books. It’s one bright spot in this Hot Mess we are all trying to survive.

Thanks, and if you do check any of these out, I’d be very interested in hearing your thoughts.ย

Playing With #BookBrush Again

Just taking a break from hot, sweaty yard work this morning. Thought it was time to try my hand at a few more graphics, and decided to share a few of them with you. If you haven’t tried BookBrush to create some images of your own, I highly recommend it. There’s a free version, which is what I’m using right now, but at some point, I might give the paid one a try. Especially if I work up the nerve to shoot for ads with some of the Big Guys (like BookBub). They offer a template sized just right for BookBub ads, too, which makes it easier.

This is what I came up with today. I’ve already thought of one or two ways to improve them, but they’ll do for right now.ย

Wednesday is Now #ShareAReviewDay

I think we should add a new feature to TWS, just for fun, and to help us share what readers are saying about our books. With that in mind, I’m creating ย #ShareAReviewDay for Wednesdays.ย  You are hereby invited to choose a favorite review of one of your books, and either a) post itย on TWSย directly, if you are a contributor, or b) email me to set it up for you. (See Contact above.) Since I’m late getting this off the ground, I’ll run it through tomorrow, too, and next week, I’ll give you heads upย the day before, so you can plan to take part.ย

I’m going to start the ball rolling by sharing a lovely review I discovered on Amazon this morning. Happily, I have received nothing but good reviews for my 2nd Wake-Robin Ridge book,ย  A Boy Named Rabbit,ย and many have been truly beautiful. This is the latest of those. Hope you enjoy it,ย  and if you haven’t yet read Rabbit’s story, maybe this will encourage you to check it out.

And by all means, please share these reviews throughout your social media sites. Let’s get some new eyes on them.

Rabbit Stole My Heart
By writester on May 15, 2018ย

“Every now and then, an author manages to write a character so distinctive and impactful, he becomes difficult to forget. Sometimes itโ€™s someone inherently evil; other times the character is a beacon of good. But seldom does such a character elevate himself past memorable โ€” to do so is to vault over a rather high bar.ย

Marcia Mearaโ€™s Rabbit is one such character.ย

I can tell you sheโ€™s written another lovely book with a solid plot. I can tell you her settings are vivid and her villain chilling. All of that is true. Yet none of it matters.ย

I recommend this story because of a little boy named Rabbit who climbed down off a mountain and strode right into my heart.ย

This is a heart-warming tale of love and family, one thatโ€™s sure to tug at any readerโ€™s heartstrings. Itโ€™s also a story you donโ€™t want to miss. It’s a must-read.”

#Christmas Ads – Two New Samples

These were the quickest and easiest to make so far, and I hope some of you might be inspired to do something similar! Again, if I were running a sale, I’d add another line saying “On Sale Today,” or something similar. But I want to use these all season, so I went with Merry Christmas, instead. I can see doing these as Beach Reads in the summer, or as Halloween Reads, if your books are spooky. You can tailor the image and the wording as needed. And, I made these the size of Facebook headers, so I can use them there, too, if I want.

Hope you’ll have fun making your own. ๐Ÿ™‚
