Hurricane On the Way!

Looks like we are about to get clobbered, and may end up literally “under the weather” for the next few days. Hopefully we won’t sustain any major damage, but power outages are VERY likely. Will get back to you with an update as soon as Hurricane Helene bids us adieu! For those of you who are also  in this storm’s pathway, I’m sending you my best wishes! May Helene be on her way very soon, and leave nothing too terrible behind.

Will touch base again, as soon as possible.

    • Storms brought down all our big oaks over the years, Delphini, so that wasn’t a problem this time around. And apparently, this one blew over through the night with no real damage left behind at all. Not even any noticeable debris in our yard. We lucked out, for sure! ❤️😊

    • Thank you for the well wishes, Bonnie. As far as I can tell from looking out the windows, we came through fine. (Guess I should get dressed and actually go outside to check things out, but not done with my cuppa tea yet. 😊❤️)

    • That’s the down side of living in Florida, Yvette: Hurricane Season!! But so far, we’ve been lucky in that regard. We did have a rather large tree fall on our house once, but it wasn’t caused by a storm of any kind. It just fell over one day! Urk!! But over time, all of the larger trees in our yard twenty years ago have come down, and there’s no real threat from the smaller ones. (I miss the shade from those bigger ones, though!) And looks like we’ve weathered Hurricane Helene now, too! ❤️😊

    • Thanks, Jennie! Luckily, we were passed by, but one of my favorite places in the world was among the areas that took a bad hit. Chimney Rock, North Carolina was inundated, and that breaks my heart. I’ve been there on vacation many times, back when I belonged to a group of friends who LOVED The Last of the Mohicans movie (starring Daniel Day-Lewis). We would meet up there for a couple of days every summer, climb the cliff trail, and enjoy the beauty of the mountain views. One year, the actor who played Uncas (Eric Schweig) joined us, and another time Wes Studi did! (He played Magua).

The pictures I saw yesterday really made me sad.
