One Medical Test Down, A Few More to Go!

Welp, yesterday went pretty easily, all things considered, if you like lying on an examination table in a darkened room, while some vampire … er, I mean total stranger … pokes around on your neck for what seems like an hour or two, listening to your arteries.  I guess I shouldn’t complain. Compared to some exams I’ve had over the years, it really wasn’t too bad. Now, if only the results turn out okay, I reckon I’ll be a happy camper.

On September 6, I go back for an “Echo Complete,” some basic imaging which shouldn’t be too difficult to endure, and then it’s a matter of finding out what my doctor will make of the results. (Hopefully, I won’t need to have any dire procedures done.)

The fun thing is looking at my upcoming medical appointments:
9/6: Echo
9/9: LabCorp blood work
9/13: Annual Check Up with Primary Care doctor
9/30: Dermatology appointment (Florida is surely the skin cancer capital of the world, and I have the scars to prove it!)
10/8: Regular Dental Check Up
10/31: Eye exam

Urk. 🙄

Somewhere in between all those appointments, I’m supposed to be living a LIFE! Family, friends, blogging, possibly writing, etc, etc, etc. All things considered, though, I should be very, very grateful. I’m not doing too badly for someone my age, I reckon, and I still manage to enjoy each day to the fullest! (Mostly.) 😉😁 Anyway, if I’m MIA a bit more than usual, you’ll understand why.

How about you guys? Life treating you pretty well of late? I sure hope so! As they used to say in some TV commercial or another, “You only go around once. Grab all the Gusto you can!” (That’s my story, an’ I’m stickin’ to it!)

Have a great day, everyone. I’m gonna try my best to do the same, grabbing some Gusto along the way, myself, of course! 🤗❤️🤗

    • I suspect it is … or at least tied with one or two other skin cancer-plagued locations. I can’t tell you how many I’ve had removed over the years, and I don’t even sunbathe! In fact, I do everything I can to stay OUT of the sun, but damage done decades ago (back when moms thought kids playing in the sun was a healthy thing) still causes me issues. Got two more places on my forehead right now that I’ll have to have frozen off very soon, even though I’ve been availing myself of Total Eclipse sunblock, HATS, and big shade trees for years!🙄

    • Yep. And I’m real good about doing whatever my doctors recommend. I mean, why bother to go see them, if I don’t want to listen to them, right? 😉So I always try to follow their instructions to the letter. 😊❤️

    • You are very kind, Nancy. I do try to stay positive, though I’m not always as successful doing so as I’d like. As for my mental acuity … well, I’ll take your word for that. I often feel like I’m getting dumber by the hour, but hopefully, that’s not really the case. 😁❤️

  1. Here’s to gusto! That’s a pretty impressive calendar – but it’s good to get everything over with at once and spend the rest of the time doing what you want to. ❤ ❤ ❤

    • My thoughts exactly, Trish! Now if I can figure out how to use the latest computer update, which just arrived, TOTALLY unasked for. I was perfectly happy with the version I had, but nooooo. They have apparently never heard the expression, “If it ain’t broke, DON’T FIX IT!” Arrrgggghhhhh! 🙄😬😢

  2. I’ve just been scheduled for my first echo in 12 years, but that’s fine. I’m not overly worried. Go ahead and live your best life, Marcia! The tests are just stop gaps in your otherwise vibrant days. I think of appointments as my catch-up-on-reading time while I wait for my turn with the machine(s). 🙂

    • Thanks, Debra. I’m not unduly worried, as I’ve “been there, done that” before, too. Lots of times. However, I do know that I’ve recently developed a heart murmur and some other heart issues, so it’s at least a BIT scarier this time around. But I fully understand that you have to know exactly what’s going on, in order to be sure you are treating it properly. So … Echo it is! Hopefully the news won’t be too bad.

      • Like you, mine is a heart murmur issue that’s apparently returned after disappearing for a number of years. So, what my doctor wants to know is, ‘why the change?’ It’s been 12 years since my last echo, so probably not a bad idea to take the test. I’m glad to hear you’re not overly worried. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the outcomes are good!

  3. Thank goodness the tests went well, and the results will be available soon. I so understand about a calendar full of medical appointments. Hang in there, my dear friend, and know we are all supporting you in our thoughts and prayers. ❤️

    • Actually, those are all the UPCOMING tests, Gwen. Four in September and two in October. I can’t wait to get them all OVER with, and find out if there are any new problems to take care of. Hopefully not!

Thanks so much for your support! I appreciate the positive thoughts and prayers very much, and will post an update when I know the results.

Hope all is well with you? 🤗❤️🤗

  4. I hear you, Marcia. I went through a tough time some years ago. Mind-body healing is another, often effective, path to health. Qi-Gong is a good one (Lee Holden has free videos) and EFT Tapping helped me a lot when standard medical didn’t get me back to stable health. Wishing all the best for your return to health and happy days!

    • I’m just a regular Social Butterfly, Pete, flitting here and there and having SOOO much fun! 😁 I just hope the vampires give me a thumbs up to get back to my Real Life again, without any major restrictions.

How about you? Hope you’re doing well, and not being plagued by any vampires lately. 😉
