Air Dot Air Show

Sanford, Florida
April 20 & 21

Spent half of the day today standing in my front yard, looking up, where we were treated to the Blue Angels and their cohorts, flying directly over our house. And they couldn’t have had a more beautiful sky as a backdrop!

Again and again, they performed maneuvers that were a treat to see. How lucky are we that we can walk outside and watch the entire show? I got goosebumps with every pass they made! Fantastic! 😀 ❤

  1. How fortunate that you were treated ro a Blue Angelss air show from the comfort of your home. I saw them perform their awesome aerial show in Cleveland a number of years ago. We watched it while seated on hot black steamy asphalt! 😉

    • With our temps in the 90s already, I wouldn’t want to be seated in a bleacher, much less on hot asphalt! We stood in the shade of our loquat tree, and had a wonderful view. Some of the planes came down really low and zoomed right over us. Tomorrow will be Day 2 of the event, so I’m thinking a couple of chairs and a cooler of iced drinks would be fun. 😀

  2. Nice! They usually perform here at the Oceana base in September. At my current apartment, which isn’t far from the base, I can watch them from my front yard, and they fly right overhead at the end of their finale.

    • They are, indeed, Sharon. Such a treat to have them fly over us every year. I get goosebumps just remembering, AND … the best part … they will be doing it again today, as Day 2 of the airshow. I can’t wait! 😀 ❤

  3. Oh, how extraordinary, Marcia!! I love seeing the Blue Angels. I grew up near their training base in El Centro, CA, and would see them often. What a delight! ❤️

    • It really was, Sally, and they’re back today. I’ve been outside watching for the last hour or so. Just so beautiful and breathtaking, and goosebump-inspiring! I never get tired of them, especially the four-man formations they execute. Wow! 😀 ❤

    • Indeed! They simply astound me, and I get teary-eyed before it’s all over. I just LOVE having two days in a row where I can watch them from my own yard. One of these days, I might get brave and go to the show, but I suspect the heat in the bleachers would do me in, so then again … maybe I should just be thankful that I’ve been given the gift of attending the show from home, and “not look a gift plane in the mouth!” 😂😂😂

  4. I’ve seen the Red Devils, but hadn’t heard of the Blue Angels. I can just imagine how brilliant and moving it would be to have them flying overhead against that beautiful sky. Spectacular! ❤ ❤
