Air Dot Air Show

Sanford, Florida
April 20 & 21
Spent half of the day today standing in my front yard, looking up, where we were treated to the Blue Angels and their cohorts, flying directly over our house. And they couldn’t have had a more beautiful sky as a backdrop!
Again and again, they performed maneuvers that were a treat to see. How lucky are we that we can walk outside and watch the entire show? I got goosebumps with every pass they made! Fantastic! 😀 ❤

That’s neat, Marcia!

It really is fun, Priscilla. Sometimes the come over so low, you can feel the vibrations inside the house AND standing in the driveway. They amaze me!

How fortunate that you were treated ro a Blue Angelss air show from the comfort of your home. I saw them perform their awesome aerial show in Cleveland a number of years ago. We watched it while seated on hot black steamy asphalt! 😉

With our temps in the 90s already, I wouldn’t want to be seated in a bleacher, much less on hot asphalt! We stood in the shade of our loquat tree, and had a wonderful view. Some of the planes came down really low and zoomed right over us. Tomorrow will be Day 2 of the event, so I’m thinking a couple of chairs and a cooler of iced drinks would be fun. 😀

Nice! They usually perform here at the Oceana base in September. At my current apartment, which isn’t far from the base, I can watch them from my front yard, and they fly right overhead at the end of their finale.

Doesn’t that just give you goosebumps? It’s wonderful to be able to watch them from home, and I’m looking forward to seeing them again tomorrow. Yay! 😀 ❤

They are, indeed, Sharon. Such a treat to have them fly over us every year. I get goosebumps just remembering, AND … the best part … they will be doing it again today, as Day 2 of the airshow. I can’t wait! 😀 ❤

I love air displays and and have the Red Arrows, wing walkers and other planes fly over or near my house during Bournemouth Air Festival.

We had what I guess is the UK equivalent – the Red Arrows – up here in the Highlands 3 weeks ago for practice runs. Amazing to get lots of free shows 😀

Free is mostly always good, and definitely so when it comes to these! How lucky are WE to get to see them perform. And we are in for Day 2 this afternoon, too. I can’t wait. Will try to take more pictures, instead of just standing there, mouth agape! 😀 ❤

It really is FABULOUS to see these kinds of things, isn’t it, Cathy? I’m looking forward to today’s performances, and hope to get some better pictures, if I can stop staring open-mouthed long enough to snap a few. 😀 ❤

They have to be a breed on their own to do that, I’d be absolutely terrified 😱

Me, too, Cathy! I absolutely HATE to fly, even on a commercial airline, and with some of the problems I’ve seen in the news lately, I don’t think I ever will again. *shiver* But watching someone ELSE fly is fun, especially the Blue Angels! 😀 ❤

Oh, how extraordinary, Marcia!! I love seeing the Blue Angels. I grew up near their training base in El Centro, CA, and would see them often. What a delight! ❤️

It’s wonderful to see them flying over, Gwen, and how fabulous that you got to enjoy them so often! They are just amazing to watch, flying over in 4-man formation, etc. I’m really looking forward to this afternoon’s performance! 😀 ❤

It really was, Sally, and they’re back today. I’ve been outside watching for the last hour or so. Just so beautiful and breathtaking, and goosebump-inspiring! I never get tired of them, especially the four-man formations they execute. Wow! 😀 ❤

Indeed! They simply astound me, and I get teary-eyed before it’s all over. I just LOVE having two days in a row where I can watch them from my own yard. One of these days, I might get brave and go to the show, but I suspect the heat in the bleachers would do me in, so then again … maybe I should just be thankful that I’ve been given the gift of attending the show from home, and “not look a gift plane in the mouth!” 😂😂😂

BTW, sometimes they passed over MUCH lower to the ground, but we didn’t get a good picture of that. (Too busy gasping and going, “Oh, LOOK at that!”)

I’ve seen the Red Devils, but hadn’t heard of the Blue Angels. I can just imagine how brilliant and moving it would be to have them flying overhead against that beautiful sky. Spectacular! ❤ ❤

I’d guess the Blue Angels are very similar to the Red Devils, and just as much fun to watch. We sure enjoyed having them fly over house for two days! What a treat!! 😀 ❤
