My longtime online friend, Ned Hickson, has a brand new book release, and I’m eager to help get the word out, especially after he was so generous as to share this on Facebook recently:

Thanks for this wonderful surprise, Ned, and boy, I’m glad I could honestly say I’d already downloaded No Safe Harbor before I even saw it! 😀
BLURB
When two patrolmen shoot and kill a woman in the shadows of Seattle’s industrial district, the question isn’t who did it but why? It’s a question that private investigator Shane McPhearson unwittingly begins to unravel after discovering an abandoned 8-year-old named Jacob in Lincoln Park. What begins as a simple attempt to find Jacob’s guardian reveals a wide-spread web of lies, cover-ups and deception woven throughout Seattle’s Eighth Precinct with ties to organized crime — and Jacob knowing the secret that threatens them all.
Not knowing who to trust or where to turn in order to keep Jacob safe, Shane takes it upon himself to find out and, in the process, joins him in becoming a moving target with no time to waste and no safe harbor.
Set in the late 1990s, No Safe Harbor explores the residual effects of abandonment as Shane and Jacob’s dangerous journey runs parallel to their own individual childhood traumas. Together, they heal the emotional wounds of the past as they race to find the truth that will save them from the threat posed by those seeking to hide it.
No Safe Harbor is a fast-paced, suspenseful thriller, and the first in an ongoing series featuring Seattle private investigator Shane McPhearson.
Folks, I highly recommend checking out Ned’s book.

I agree, Vera, and I’ll soon be delving into it, myself. Thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

Thanks, Vera! It was a while in the making, with moves between Dallas, Atlanta and back to the Pacific Northwest in between. But I feel it was worth the wait, and I really appreciate Marcia taking the time to spread the word (Thanks, Marcia!). The next in the series, “Harbinger of Truth,” is underway for releases in August 2024 through Barnes & Noble and Amazon Books!

Oh, that’s good to know, Ned. We’ll have to set up a guest post or the like when the next one rolls around. (Making a note for myself, since my memory is pathetic these days.) 😀

I’d love that! And I’ve stopped using the phrase “If memory serves” because, well… it really doesn’t serve much anymore! Lol!

OH, boy, do I ever identify with THAT comment! I think my service has actually been discontinued, if you want to know the truth. *sigh* But hey … I’m still here, so I shouldn’t complain, I reckon! 😀

Hey, Sue! I totally get it and am just glad to see you here (and to know you weren’t swamp ghosting me, haha!) Thanks for the kind words. I hope all is well in your world, which seems to come with a decrease in social media 😉

I got burned on FB a few years ago, Sue, when my account was cloned and someone masquerading as me was asking folks for money! URK!! Now I simply post a meme each night, but I don’t do or share much else there. I was lucky I saw Ned’s post, and very happy to find out about his newest book.
Here’s to a great weekend ahead, my friend! 😀 ❤

Marcia, many thanks for the shoutout and sharing the Amazon link. You’ve always been so generous in promoting others’ work and helping us find new authors, bloggers and connections with folks. I still have it on my bucket list to have the chance to meet in the not-too-distant future! Until then, thanks so much for being you!

Hi Sally, and thanks for adding me to your next Amazon run! I hope you enjoy it. Someone told me it kept them up past their bedtime, so I take that as a good sign. Unless they go to sleep at 4 p.m.

Oh, wow, Ned’s book sounds captivating. Hopefully, no harm comes to the eight-year-old boy in his story. I guess I’ll have to read it to find out! 🙂

I’m looking forward to finding out, too, Nancy, and will be reading it very soon. Hope you’ll enjoy it, and if you’ve never read any of Ned’s work, you’d probably LOVE his early books of humor. He’s a very funny man!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and here’s to a super weekend! 😀 ❤

I’ll have to check Ned’s earlier books out. I’ve asked for a Kindle for my birthday because my book wish list is ridiculous. 🙂

With my old eyes, I couldn’t exist without my Kindle, Nancy. (You can set the font to whatever size it takes.) Also, I love that if I spot a word I don’t know the meaning of, I can just touch it, and the definition pops up. I still collect print books for my shelves, but I do all my reading on my Kindle. (Cheaper books is a plus, too.) 😀

Thanks, Nancy! I promise no eight-year-olds were actually harmed in the making of this book. I can’t say the same for anyone older than 21, however, lol!

So glad to have introduced you to Ned, Jan. His earlier books are hilarious (he was a humor columnist for some years, I believe), and his newest one, while a change of pace, sounds great. I’m looking forward to reading it, and hope you get a chance to check it out, too. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and here’s to a fantastic weekend! 😀 ❤
