As you can tell, Rhy is totally overcome with excitement at the
thought of life returning to normal around here.
π
The great thing about taking a break from the computer for a week or two is relaxing with family and friends and maybe doing a wee bit of reading. The not-so-great thing is returning to an overflowing Inbox and a stack of work to catch up on. But nothing in this world is free, no matter what anyone tells you. The hidden costs are always there somewhere. In this case, I’m almost sure the break was worth it. π
Yep, I’m back online again and working my way through hundreds of emails. Literally. I’ve had to do a mass deletion of older ones, since there was no way to catch up on all of those, but I’ll do my best with the more recent ones. I’ve missed all of you and am looking forward to checking in with all my favorite blogs. This weekend is a bit booked, but I’ll do my best, and next week, it’s life as usual!
Hope all of you had holidays as wonderful as mine and are ready for forge ahead with your 2019 projects, whatever they may be.Β Good to be back!
Hmmm. Reya seems to be overcome with excitement about something,
too, though I’m not sure what it is.

Not so good, Marcia… The dreaded flu got me…

Awww, I’m sorry to hear that! I hope you’ve kicked it’s backside and sent it running for cover by now? Take good care of yourself! β€

I think it likes it, and my leg aches from all the kicking. But I will win in the end…

Atta girl! Rabbit says you can’t let no steenkin’ ol’ flu win. He reckons you’re one of the good guys, an’ he’s “seen” you up and around and doin’ the kinda stuff good guys do. He says he’d bring you flowers and a good book to read, but first, he’s gotta figure out what this ol’ light is doin’, hangin’ around on Wake-Robin Ridge an’ makin’ his Mama nervous. π π β€

I was offline for ten days while visiting my son and family in Texas. It was wonderful, but it did take a bit to catch up again.
Happy New Year, Marcia!!

So there’s hope for me? π I’m glad you were able to spend time with family, Kass, and I know it was worth the mad scramble upon returning home. Every time I feel myself getting overwhelmed with everything ahead of me, I try to remember how much fun I had at Christmas and New Year’s. It helps. π Happy New Year to you, as well! β€

Glad to hear you took a break. Good luck with the emails. I’ve never had the guts to just delete the old ones. Maybe I’ll have to try that. I keep longing for a more-or-less clean slate.

After a certain point, I realized that 1) as I was taking care of old emails, new ones were stacking up, and 2) half of what was in the old ones was outdated already. So, I just scan for anything that I know I MUST save, then close my eyes and hit Delete on the rest. It’s a matter of survival. I get between 300 and 500 or so a day, and I was offline for two weeks. Gleep!

I was away in Canada visiting family and friends and celebrating mom’s 90th birthday so was also out of the loop. Your grandbaby is so cute!! Happy New Year.

Well, Happy New Year to YOU and Happy 90th birthday to your mom, too! What a marvelous reason to be out of the loop. (Thanks for your comment on Reya, too. She IS a cutie, as her her big brother.) Glad you’re home safely from your travels, and hope 2019 is very, very good to you! β€ π

Welcome back!
I’ve taken a massive break from dealing with emails and associated stuff, using my ‘holiday’ to do lots of writing! Other people read for relaxation, I like to write, as it isn’t often I get such an undisturbed run at it. Book #3 of the Five Kingdoms is nearly finished, I began the climax today.
Feeling very satisfied with my progress, and annoyed its coming to an end.
Hey ho, back to the usual scrabble to keep up with everything…

Good for you, Debby! We had company (with more coming Sunday) and until the last day or so, there was no time for writing for me. π¦ But I did squeeze in a bit of reading at night, which made me happy. And I had a great time with family, too. I’m glad you were able to get so much done! I’m looking forward to this third book, for sure.
Hope you have a wonderful, fun, and productive 2019!! Write like the WIND! π π π

Welcome back, Marcia. Nothing like taking a break (even though we do have to suffer through emails and stuff when we return). Hope you have a wonderful New Year!

Welcome back, Marcia and Happy New Year if I didn’t already wish you. I’m glad you’ve had such a lovely break with family. I’ve discovered trying to empty the inbox is like trying to have an empty laundry basket – there’s always going to be something in it! I have done a big clear out (of the inbox, not, alas, the laundry basket) and feel I’ve got it down to a manageable level.

Thanks, Mary! Good to be back. There’s a lot to be said for having your normal routine reestablished. At least, for me. Sometimes too much freedom confuses my tired little brain! π A bit of structure helps. And I have two laundry baskets, btw. ALWAYS at least partially full. But I have beaten my Inbox into submission and will make an effort to keep it under control, at least for now. π
Happy New Year to you, too! Hope it’s a GREAT one for all of us! π β€

It was worth it, Janice, but now I’m ready to get back to work again. I miss writing too much to stay gone too long. And I’ve missed all my online friends, too. Blessings to you, as well. Here comes 2019, ready or not! π

Hi Marcia nice to see you back. Happy New Year to you. I had a lovely time with family in Scotland finding it a bit difficult settling back to work! My mind is still in holiday mode.

I have a feeling if I ever made it to Scotland, I’d have a hard time ever doing anything else again in my life! π Someday I’m gonna get there, and I’ll put my theory to the test. Glad you enjoyed your trip, and Happy New Year back atcha! π β€

Thanks, Diana. I’m not sure how relaxing it was, but it was definitely FUN, and a break from sitting at the computer all day. Plus, we got to spend time with all of the family, and that was most excellent! π Happy New Year to you, as well, and here’s to a wonderful 2019 for all of us! π β€

Playing catch-up here, too! Laughed at Mary Smith’s comment re empty laundry baskets – same for me with the recycling; as soon as I’ve emptied the bin I turn round and there’s more there…
Lovely to have you back, Marcia. Have a wonderful and produtive 2019.β₯
