I’m very excited to announce my newest book, The Emissary: A Riverbend Spinoff Novella, is now available for download on Amazon! Don’t ask me how, but I managed to get all the last bits and pieces put together, and spent most of yesterday trying to coax my formatting skills into life again, just so I could have that blissful moment of glee as I watched it go live on Amazon. For a while, all thoughts of smashed garages, and crushed cars, and hurricane clean up went away. It was joyous!
BLURB
An angel’s work is never done–that’s part of the gig. But angels hadn’t been created to deal with such a vastly over-populated planet, rife with misery, suffering, and general chaos. Helping souls in peril has become a nearly impossible job, and even angelic tempers are frayed.
The archangel Azrael has had enough. He believes he’s found a way to ease their burden while saving jeopardized humans, too–hired help.
When Jake Daughtry lost his life rescuing a total stranger from certain death, he was on the fast track to Heaven. But that was before Azrael pulled him right out of line at the Pearly Gates. Now, as an Emissary to the Angels, Jake is taking to the highway in a quest to help souls in trouble. But the innate stubbornness of human beings bent on self-destruction is a challenge unlike any he’s ever faced.
It’s up to Jake and Azrael to bridge the gap between humans and angels. Will they ever convince the Council of Angels this endeavor is worthwhile? Can Jake ever figure out how to play by Azrael’s complicated rules? Will Azrael ever master the use of contractions in general conversation?
To find out the answers, hop on board Jake’s big, red-and-white semi, and travel the roads from the Florida Keys to north Georgia on an adventure that will make you laugh hard and cry harder.

Congratulations, Marcia. It sounds fun (and I have a character called Azrael in one of my series, so that’s a winner with me). All the best!

Thanks so much, Olga. I know I’ve mentioned several times how much fun I had writing this one, but it’s true. It just gave me immense pleasure to work on. 🙂 I hope readers will enjoy it, as much as my betas seemed to. 🙂 ❤

Thank you so much, Jacquie. It’s something very different for me, in many ways, though as always, my characters told me just what to say, so that part was easy. 😀 Hope you’ll check it out. It’s a quick, easy read. 🙂

Woohoo! Congrats on the release, Marcia. I just grabbed my copy from Amazon.
I am woefully behind on my reading due to my last book deadline, but you’re on my Kindle and my TBR!

Thanks so much, Mae! I really hope you enjoy it. And believe me, I understand the “behindedness” of authors. 😀 If it’s any encouragement, it’s less than 120 pages, so a pretty fast read. (Maybe that will pull it up closer to the top of your TBR stack. Hahahaha.) At any rate, I’m thrilled you downloaded it, and I can’t wait to see what you think. ❤

Thanks, Marje. I just had to put all the Irma Stuff on hold, and take some time to get this one out there. I have almost no time for marketing right now, but I hope it will still start moving. Next up: my newsletter. 😀 ❤

Hope it goes well for you Marcia. I haven’t set up an email subscriber list yet and doubt I will have any time for quite some while as I have just accepted a full time job until March 2018. Marketing will have to be on the go slow for a while.

Hi, Vashti! Thanks for stopping by, and for your kind comments. I hope it IS interesting and fun. That’s exactly what I was aiming for, and I have to say, it made me laugh out loud quite often while I was writing it. Of course, it made me snivel and cry a few times, too, because laughter and tears balance each other so well. I hope readers will enjoy it! 🙂 ❤

Thank you, Robbie! I hope readers will find it intriguing and fun, so I can justify writing at least two more novellas in the series. I’m planning to sandwich them between my full-length books, if all goes well. 🙂

Thank you SO much, Sue! I really appreciate your helping me spread the word. I have to get back to hurricane clean up today, so can’t really do much in the way of marketing, though I AM going to try to get my newsletter out later. So every single share helps greatly. You have such a wonderful following, I hope a few will find the concept interesting and check it out. Thanks again! 😀 ❤

I hope so too, Marcia. So glad you are all safe…even though I know there will be an awful lot of work in the aftermath. ❤

Thanks for that, too, Sue. We are now “waiting as fast as we can!” 😀 Nothing left we can do until the insurance adjustor comes. There will need to be a general contractor hired to handle all the subs required to give us back a functional garage. And first and foremost, to shore it up and find a way to get the cars out, so we can see if they are even repairable. Waiting is HARD. But it will all come together at some point. 😀

I can only beginto imagine how frustrating it must be…and knowing the wait may be a long one with the anount of damage in the region…

Thanks so much, Mary! Although this one can be read as a stand-alone, I think reading the series first is a good plan. Hope you’ll enjoy it when you have time to take a look! 😀 ❤

Thank you so much, Staci! And for all your hard work, too. I do hope readers will love this one, because I want to revisit this world many more times. I keep saying how much fun it was to write this one, but it’s true! There wasn’t a moment of frustration throughout the whole experience, and I’m looking forward to more from these characters. 🙂 ❤

Thanks, Marie! I sure hope you enjoy my take on angels! It was the best time I’ve had since I started writing, I think. Probably because I finished the draft in a fraction of my usual time. But also because I enjoyed the characters so much, and I can’t wait to find out if you do, as well. Fingers crossed! 🙂 ❤

Oh, thanks so much, Kass! I do hope you enjoy it. It’s a quick, easy read–about an hour and a half. Two at the most. And I hope it will make you laugh. Except for the parts that are meant to make you tear up a bit. 😀 I’m looking forward to continuing this series, if folks enjoy it as much as I hope. 🙂 ❤

Wishing you huge success, Marcia.
My dad drove that kind of truck. He would have loved this. In fact he’s probably somewhere asking why I didn’t think of such a story! LOL.
Huge hugs.

Awww! Thanks, Teagan. It was a fun book to write, and each chapter is titled for a song playing on the truck radio. That was REALLY fun to come up with, and I hope any truckers who DO read the story will enjoy it. Jake is a good guy, and a real soft-hearted one, too. 🙂

Well, now I’ve really got to get reading! (the songs)
One of my dad’s favorites was Eddie Rabbit’s Driving My Life Away.
One morning I was headed to work. My route had almost 20 traffic lights. About the time I realized I had caught 13 lights GREEN, that song started playing. I took it as a “hello.” Every light that morning was green. Hugs.

Ha. I’m SO grabbing that title for Emissary 2!! I’m not a big country music fan, but I do have some I really love, and I liked Eddie Rabbit a lot. Of course, “I Love a Rainy Night” was my fave, I guess, and that one just might come into play in Book 2, as well. It was SO much fun finding song titles that fit what was happening in each chapter. I can’t wait to see what you think of the ones I chose. 😀 Hope you get to read it soon. (It’s quick and easy. Less than two hours, probably).
Thanks for the great idea! Driving My Life away is IN. Might be perfect for the very first chapter in Book 2! 🙂 ❤
