  1. Both are valid statements!
    There are movies that ruin the story – think The Three Musketeers by A Dumas, and movies that are as best as the book – think The Shining – by S. King or movies that make the book famous – think Out of Africa by Karen Blixen.

    • And perhaps try to READ the book before casting the actors. Maybe have an idea of what the character is supposed to look and act like. (Still grumbling about Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. Has to be the all-time worst casting in movie history.)

  2. As for the closest to the story, The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton and the original movie or at least the first one I saw.
