Great interview!
I’m with you on the heroes you write; just about all the characters in my books are psychologically damaged to some degree, the interesting part of writing then is how they interact with other people, and out of that the plot develops strength and depth.
Love your list of urban fantasy authors too – a few in there I may have to try out π

Thanks, Deb! It was a fun interview. Oh, I love me some angsty men, all right. (Loved a couple in real life, too, but they didn’t come around quite so nicely as the ones in my books. π Maybe that’s why I like writing about them. They’re easier to fix! π )
I am an Urban Fantasy fanatic these days. I still read all the rest, too, but UF is my current passion. It will simmer down again and be harder to find on the shelves, so I’m all for getting it while the gettin’s good. If you want any input on the authors I’ve mentioned, just drop me an email. I can definitely recommend some, based on what you like.
Good to hear from you today. Hope you’ve got a great weekend planned.

If only men in real life were as wonderful as book boyfriends…
I got into Urban Fantasy about 4 years ago, reading Richelle Meade and Carrie Vaughan – still 2 of my favourites – and I love it. That’s why I wrote one of my own, and I set it in an area I know well: the Scottish Highlands…
You’ll have to come visit π

I’ve read both. Liked some things, not others. But I was quite fond of Dimitri Belikov, I can tell you that much. π And I HAVE to read your book. As you could tell, Scotland is HIGH (like #1) on my places I’d like to visit. Don’t tempt me. π
Going to go check out you book right now, before I forget again.

Although it’s not the usual theme on my blog, I’m planning on doing a series of photographic posts on my wanders around the Highlands, so stayed tuned for some awesome scenery.
Note to self – remember to take some photos of men in kilts – there are enough of them around the place… π

Now that’s something I would really enjoy, even without the added bonus of men in kilts. I think Scotland looks just beautiful! I know I would truly love to visit there someday. I will definitely be watching for this series. Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting interview about your writing. I’ll have to picture you with a southern accent from now on and your travel plans sound right up my alley!

Glad you found it interesting, Marcia. And yep. I have a very definite southern accent. But not all southern accents are the same. I don’t sound like Tennessee or Alabama, for instance. More of an old fashioned Florida sound, with some traces of Georgia in it. Not that people who aren’t from the south would be able to tell.
My editor, Caitlin, is from Texas. We have noticed lots of differences in the way we would express something…the phrases we use. So…not like Texas, either, I guess. Southern, though. And now Y’all know the truth! π
