Sally’s Cafe and Bookstore – Author Update #Reviews – Don Massenzio, Marcia Meara and Teri Polen

So happy to start the New Year as part of Sally Cronin’s Author Update & Reviews series. I was tickled to find DGKaye’s review of my second Emissary novella, To Love Somebody, featured alongside the work (and reviews) of Don Massenzio and Teri Polen. Hope you’ll check this post out! (And I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t hurt any of our feelings if you shared it far and wide, too.) Thanks! 😀 ❤

Smorgasbord Blog Magazine – Sunday Interview – Getting to Know You 2019

Sally Cronin is running her popular Getting to Know You series of interviews. It’s a great way to introduce yourself to new readers and have a lot of fun at the same time. Check out this post to learn more! 🙂

I’m Back. Mostly.

As you can tell, Rhy is totally overcome with excitement at the
thought of life returning to normal around here.
😀

The great thing about taking a break from the computer for a week or two is relaxing with family and friends and maybe doing a wee bit of reading. The not-so-great thing is returning to an overflowing Inbox and a stack of work to catch up on. But nothing in this world is free, no matter what anyone tells you. The hidden costs are always there somewhere. In this case, I’m almost sure the break was worth it. 😉

Yep, I’m back online again and working my way through hundreds of emails. Literally. I’ve had to do a mass deletion of older ones, since there was no way to catch up on all of those, but I’ll do my best with the more recent ones. I’ve missed all of you and am looking forward to checking in with all my favorite blogs. This weekend is a bit booked, but I’ll do my best, and next week, it’s life as usual!

Hope all of you had holidays as wonderful as mine and are ready for forge ahead with your 2019 projects, whatever they may be.  Good to be back!

Hmmm. Reya seems to be overcome with excitement about something,
too, though I’m not sure what it is.
😀

Taking a Christmas Break

OH, my! Presents still to wrap, shopping for last minute items not quite done, cooking and baking ahead, guests dropping by, and all those final details that make Christmas so much fun–busy, busy, busy around here! Consequently,  I’ve made an executive decision, and am going to take a Christmas break from blogging and other online duties. I’ll be hard at work again after the 1st of the year, and will catch up with all of you then.

In the meantime, those of you who are set up to contribute directly to this blog, please feel free to do so any time you wish. Share your promos or reviews, or whatever you like. You are always welcome to share here! And I’d like to take one last chance to wish each of you a beautiful and blessed Christmas and a very happy, productive, and fun-filled New Year! See you when the excitement dies down and the company all goes home. Roll on, 2019! We’re ready for ya! 🙂 ❤

#SharingGraphics

Every now and then, I find a few minutes to create a graphic or two. After I finished with my Christmas sale images, I figured why not do a generic review reminder? One that hopefully won’t be a problem with Amazon, since it doesn’t mention anyone’s books specifically and doesn’t suggest giving a book in exchange for a review. I think this one should be fine. If you have a use for it, please feel to save it. I plan to use it on Twitter, etc, since I want to encourage readers to leave more reviews, period, for any author they like. Maybe this will help. Enjoy!

Check out this week’s Author Inspiration and Writing Links on Staci Troilo’s blog. Some good stuff here, as always. (Don’t forget to share!) Thanks!

Ciao, amici! It’s week three of Advent. This week’s theme is joy. When it comes to writing, I run a gamut of emotions. Frustration, uncertainty, fear. But above all, I feel joy. Knowing that I can take an idea in my head, translate it into words on the page, and ultimately touch a reader in some manner? I take great pleasure in that. I also find it incredible fulfilling when I create an especially clever twist or write a beautiful description. Those surprises are… well, joyful. Which is why this week’s quote, by H. L. Mencken, is so appropriate.

There is in writing the constant joy
of sudden discovery, of happy accident.

Readers, I hope you find joy in the stories you read. And writers, I hope you find joy in this wonderful vocation.

And now, last week’s writing links:
