Just a quick note to let you know I have NOT forgotten about all my online friends and am not deliberately letting my blog sit idle. I’m still just trying to sort out all my new health issues that seem to have cropped up all at once. On the plus side, I’m still doing pretty good for my age (can I really be 80 already?). I do have some heart issues that need to be addressed in the next week or two, but I think we will be able to get them under control pretty soon. Fingers crossed. Having a test done today and another one next week, and should have a better idea of what lies ahead by then. Will update you guys as soon as my doctors update me, but in the meantime, don’t be alarmed if The Write Stuff is a bit quiet for a few more days.
Thanks!!! I’ll get back to you as soon as I can! 🤗❤️🤗

Wishing you all the best that everything gets sorted out soon. Sending hugs. xo

Best Wishes as always, Marcia…
and here is my Facebook post of the day: A Wednesday Poem: Today’s prompt-help- and of course the world needs so much of it. And then there are poets, some occasionally shallow, who offer a modest serving that may or may not be of value.
An Ovi-Ode to My Morning Coffee
As we age, as time hoists her flag,
as it flutters, there’s a wee snag –
ones tendency to lollygag,
to put up one’s feet and repose.
Some elders, to be sure, engage
in extension, their silver age,
seeking always to turn the page,
read what has yet to be written.
And there are others who succumb
to a graceful continuum,
eschewing a loaf for a crumb,
a modest life of acceptance.
As for me, betwixt and between,
I seek succour, a coffee bean
or three, ground, perked, oh sweet caffeine
to see me through my miseries.

When you’re plagued with health issues over such a long time, it can feel like they’ll never be sorted. But you’re getting there, slowly and surely, and the reward will be a joyful return to your blog and other writing. With anything heart-related, the only sensible way is to listen to the experts and I’m hoping that what they tell you after these tests will put your mind at rest and let you get on with your life. You also have some kayaking to do with Erin on that limpid, turquoise water! ❤ ❤ ❤

Hope all’s well as we approach the end of the first week of September Marcia! 🙂 I share your “age feeling” in my early 70s with the “I can’t believe…”
One thing I notice that almost makes me laugh (though a bit sadly) is when I’m going down a staircase in a modern institutional/new type building with the zig-zags every 8 steps or so…
Remember LEAPING down those steps in two or three leaps from one side to the other and back when in college? Heh, while nowadays we rather pointedly hold on to the railing?

Thanks for your well wishes, Michael! They are much appreciated!
Being a wee bit timid about (okay, terrified of) heights, I can honestly say I’ve never gone leaping down any stairs, but I have other things I used to do without a worry, and have definitely crossed off my To Do list these days. (Or as I call it, my “No Thanks. I’d Like to Survive Until At LEAST Tomorrow” list. ) And I definitely hold on to the railing when going up or down stairs! 😁
At 80, I am happy to wake up every morning, grab my cup of tea, and take a seat in front of the computer. This time of year, with temps still in the high 80s and low 90s here in central Florida, I can’t even stay outside long enough to tend my garden. (Thankfully, that will change in a few more weeks, and I’ll be able to enjoy gardening again from November through March or April. Yay!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to say hello. Hope you have a great rest of your day! 😊
