No, you’re not weird: You have the gift of imagining the final result. I’m ambivalent about editing; I hate the hard work, but love discovering the possibilities as I revise.

Exactly.
I get a buzz out of crafting mediocre sentences into sharp prose that simultaneously roll off the tongue, and have the impact I intend.
Or, at least, that’s what I hope!
My biggest problem is deciding when to STOP editing, and declare a book finished.
