Now THIS Looks Much Better!

Happily, the rain and wind have disappeared from this area, the sun is out again, and if I had the energy to get in my canoe, I could head out on the river just like this gal. (If you look close, you can see the manatee she’s watching.)

Even if I stay home, though, it’s nice to have the storms  gone, at least for the time being. My thoughts are with those who are still dealing with “Debby,” and I hope their weather will soon clear up, too!

Uh-oh!

Just when I think I can breathe easy for a bit, we get more warnings. Seminole County (where we live) is now included in a TORNADO watch! Give me a hurricane over a tornado ANY day!

Sure hope nothing comes of this one, but I’m looking at some stuff in the backyard that probably needs to be tied down or brought into the garage. *sigh* As my old SNL friend, Roseanne Roseannadanna used to say, “It’s AAAALLLL-WAYS somethin’!!”  🙄😬

Still Here … so far!

We are still under a major bad weather watch, though nothing happened last night. Looks like it will get rainy later today and tomorrow will tell the tale as to how bad this storm will be. The brunt of the storm is on track to make landfall at “Big Bend” where the Florida mainland begins the curve into the panhandle region. We are way south of that and on the Atlantic side of the state, rather than the Gulf, so with any luck, we’ll weather the storm fairly well.

When Hurricane Irma struck a few years back, we weren’t so lucky and an enormous tree fell on our house. Happily, we didn’t suffer any injuries, but the roof sure did. Had to be replaced. Here’s to everyone coming through the storm unscathed this time around (including us). Will keep you posted unless we lose power. And to all my Florida friends and family …

STAY SAFE!!

Quick Update on Tropical Storm Debby Before I Head to Bed!

It looks like we here on the east coast are in for a much easier ride than those along the west one. I wish NONE Of us were likely to experience Tropical Storm Debby, but alas, pretty sure parts of the state are gonna have some nasty weather, especially along the Gulf of Mexico. Hopefully it won’t be too horribly bad, though, compared to many storms we  Floridians go through.

I’ll check in with you in the morning to let you know how we fared, but as of right now, it looks like those of us in the Orlando/Sanford area MIGHT only be getting some MUCH NEEDED rain. (Fingers crossed!) And you can bet I’m also  praying we don’t lose power.

Off to bed with a good book now.

Sleep Tight, My Friends!
