#ChristmasBreak – #FamilyInTown

(The Santa Maria)

Now that Christmas has sailed on by and New Year’s is still in the distance, I’m taking an honest-to-goodness blog break for the rest of the week. And even if I decided I wanted to cheat, I probably wouldn’t have time because my family from Denver is arriving tonight! WooHoo!! And then my son and his family will be joining us in a few days. I’m sure the whole bunch here at once will keep me plenty busy, in the best of ways. 😁

It was touch and go there as to whether they could come. First my grandson got the flu, then my granddaughter got it, too. Now, they both are allowed to travel and are on the plane even as I type. Hopefully, there will be no more delays, and we can let the fun begin!

See you January 2, ready for a brand new year!
In the meantime, please stay SAFE and WELL!

  1. That sounds wonderful, Marcia. I’m glad everything fell into place and your family will be arriving. Take your blogging break and enjoy it.

I’m still not 100%, but was well enough to enjoy the Christmas holiday. If I can just get rid of the rasp in my voice and banish this cough, I’ll be back to normal. I’m looking forward to doing that in 2023.

    Happy New Year, my Penderpal!

    • Aw, I’m so sorry to hear you are still dealing with that stuff, Mae! I hope it leaves you VERY soon. Like tomorrow, maybe! I’m glad you were well enough to enjoy Christmas, but it would sure be nice if you could also really enjoy New Year’s Eve, too!

And thanks for the kind comments about things working out for my family to come. I was in a pretty sad place this morning, until I got the news that there had been enough improvement to allow the kids to fly! Now, I’m not totally ready for them around here, but I don’t even care. They’ll be WITH US, so we’ll make it work no matter what!

Sending you loads of love and healing energy, my Penderpal, and I hope you’ll feel better every single day! πŸ€—β€οΈπŸ€—

    • Thank you so much, Bill! I hope your holidays have been filled with all the people and things you most enjoy, and here’s to a very happy New Year, as well! Always good to see you stop by! πŸ˜€

  2. Have a great time with the family – leave the house as it is and let them do the mundane and heavy stuff! You don’t want to wear yourself out so that you miss even a precious second of their company. ❀ ❀ ❀

    • Thanks, Craig! It IS a stroke of luck that they could come, but my little granddaughter (4 years old) was running a fever again this morning, so they are staying at the motel another night to be sure she’s okay before heading over here to stay for the rest of their visit. (They’ll be here nearly two weeks, so one more day to be safe won’t hurt.) Can hardly stand that they’re just “down the road a piece” though! The day is going VERY slowly!

        • Erin’s a great mom and understands how easily kids can pass things along to others. She’s especially careful about me these days, since I’ve had some health issues that put me at increased risk for things like the flu. (Can you tell I’m proud of her? Both of my kids are special. If you don’t believe it, just ask me! 😁😁😁)
