#EndlessSummer – #AmLaughing – #Humor

I don’t want to say that it’s been too hot in Florida this year, since I’ve lived through worse summers many, many times, BUT …  I DID celebrate that it only went up to 82 degrees today, and I don’t think I was the only one.

It appears cooler weather is in big demand,
and warnings have been issued, to wit:

Okay, so this is all totally bogus (except for the part about the temps running anywhere from 82 to 93 degrees in the last few days), but I thought these pictures were too cute not to share. Hope you enjoyed them.

  1. We’re celebrating here in Croatia. We’ve had two nights without needing the fans on and have been able to go out during the day!
Eastern Europe has been hot hot hot this summer. Like you, I don’t like to complain about lovely weather, but I’m so glad it’s cooled down at last!

    • Oh, I’m pretty good about complaining, I’m afraid. I’m as housebound during our summers as many are up north during icy winters. And I definitely grumble. As much as I love our Florida wildlife, I’d be living on Wake-Robin Ridge if the choice were up to me. 😀 But I’m glad you’re seeing some breaks in the heat so you can really enjoy your travels! Hope these pups gave you a laugh or two, and thanks for stopping by, Jackie!

  2. Lol, great choices, Marcia 😁 We cooled down some the last few days, with highs only around 80 and lower humidity. Now we’re starting to warm up again and humidity is going up. But at least the weekend is looking to be better.

    • Predictions for us are 92 again by tomorrow! It beats the 95-97 highs for last month, but not by much. *sigh* But this year actually has been cooler than most. We usually get some triple digit days in late July and August, but didn’t this year, so I’m trying to be thankful for small favors. 😀

Glad you enjoyed the pics, Jeanne! Thanks for stopping by, and stay cool!! 😀 ❤

    • I loved these pics! 😀 What kind of dogs do you have, Craig? Bulldogs? I have to say our dogs never resembled these at all. (Dachshunds have plenty of nose and no wrinkles to speak of.) And our cats … well, you know cats are going to try to look cool no matter how hot it is. 😀

Thanks for stopping by today, Craig. Have a great week! 😀

    • I grew up in a Florida where only stores or restaurants had a/c, believe it or not. (Or maybe a few multi-millionaires here and there.) I used to put a salad bowl full of ice cubes on the nightstand and set a fan to blow across it onto me as I tried desperately to fall asleep in a puddle of sweat! TMI, I’m sure! 😀 But I can’t even imagine living here without air conditioning today. I’d not fare well at all.

Happily, today’s homes pretty much all come with central heat and air built in. Then when it turns 100 degrees in July, you do have options, though you have to watch out for that power bill!

Sorry you’ve been uncomfortable, Harmony. I know it’s been a bad summer many places, though here in Florida, it’s not been quite as hot as usual. Go figger! 😀 ❤

        • Don’t forget, Florida has been a state since 1845 and was colonized by the Spanish in the 1600s. And there were indigenous peoples here when the Spanish arrived, too. No a/c in those days!

A/C’s didn’t even begin to get popular until the 1960s or so, and then, just small window units. So that’s about 250 – 300 years or so of unmitigated HEAT. URK!! But I agree. Even remembering how it was before we lived in a house with a window unit to cool even ONE room is pretty grim! 😩😩😩

            • I was born in it. Doesn’t help ME at all, I’m afraid. I’d be in the mountains tomorrow if it weren’t for my husband, who walks five miles daily, even in this heat! I can’t even stand five MINUTES out there. Honestly, I don’t know how I survived growing up here, but at least I have the a/c for my escape these days, so I’m very grateful for that! 😀

    • For some reason we didn’t have a single 3-digit day this summer here in Central Florida. (I’m sure they did in South Florida, though.) Six weeks of it would probably leave me hospitalized! GAH!!! Sorry it’s been so bad that even 95 sounds good, Priscilla, and hope it cools down for you SOON!!! Glad you liked the Bully Boys and Puglets! 😀 ❤

    • I know. Hard to resist those floppy faces, isn’t it? But they truly are miserable in the heat. (Maybe even more so than I, though I sure do hate it.) Glad you enjoyed the pics, Jacqui! Thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

    • I guess we in central Florida lucked out this year. 95 was our highest, though that was bad enough. Usually, we’re in triple digits through late July and August, too, but I’m NOT going to complain that it was a wee bit cooler this year. And today, it’s only predicted to hit 82. Next thing you know, I’ll be needing a long-sleeved shirt! (If I owned one!) Glad you enjoyed the pics, Jan! Thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

    • YES! Cooler temps, please. Even though we’ve had cooler than usual temps here this summer, it’s still too dang HOT! Can’t wait for those cooler days when I can stand to be in the yard longer than 12 and a half seconds! Hope your days cool back down again, Joan! Thanks for stopping by. 😀 ❤

    • What? You mean they AREN’T???? Surely at least their HEADS are boneless, right? I mean, look at those pudding faces!! 😂😂😂

And thanks, Mike. I’m hangin’ in there, heat or no heat, guards or no guards! (Oops. Had a Wizard of Oz moment there, sorry.)

I’m hanging in and waiting eagerly for fall and even winter. (This year, winter in Florida is going to be on a Tuesday!) 😁Thanks for stopping by, Mike. Always great to see you! 😀

    • Glad you enjoyed them, Denise, and VERY happy things are cooling down for you. I’d love every minute of it, too. I think. It’s been so long since I’ve felt cool weather, I’ve forgotten, but I’m pretty sure I loved it! 😂😂😂 Thanks for stopping by today! 😀 ❤

    • They really are pretty funny looking, aren’t they, Mae! Glad you got a chuckle from them, and hope you aren’t dealing with wretchedly hot temps right now. I’m SOOO ready for cooler weather! (As long as it doesn’t bring a hurricane with it! 😮)

Thanks for stopping by today! 😀 ❤

  3. I don’t know how you cope with those temperatures! Today in Pembrokeshire is supposed to hit a ‘high’ of 62 – and that’s fine by me. Those dog pictures are amazing, especially the last one! Keep cool! 😀 ❤ 😀

    • Not to worry, Trish. This morning it’s only 74 outside, so I was able to open the back door to let the cats on the screened porch for a while. It’s been too hot out there for them, even with the door closed the door behind them. I’m afraid to shut them out there when it’s over 90, but they are happily lounging about and birdwatching today. I’ll bring them back in and close the door in an hour or so. It’s supposed to go up to 86 by 1:00pm and then the rain starts. It has been POURING rain every afternoon for two weeks or more. I mean, rain so heavy you can’t see the house across the street. But it cools things down a bit, and the azaleas are happy, so it’s good, as long as there’s no hurricane on the way.

It wont be much longer before our fall days will kick in, and then we will have wonderful weather all winter! The roses are at their prime from November through April, and the temps will be perfect for gardening or other outdoor things. Our winter temps are more like what most places experience in autumn, and truly my favorite time of year down here. So, I’ll suffer a bit longer, as the days start to head that direction, and then I’ll be opening all the windows and enjoying myself once more, inside or out. 😊❤️😊
