    • Truly, it’s true in every aspect of life, Trish. We are surrounded by learning opportunities, and taking advantage of them every chance we get helps us succeed in more ways than we can count. But you do have to want to learn for it to all work. Think of technology as your friend, and ask loads of questions. And Google bits that don’t make sense to you. (I can guarantee others will have been looking for those same answers, and most of them will be there to help you along. (Friends are good for that, too.) 😊

    • I know what you mean, Jaye. Everything is harder (and SLOWER) as I age, but I refuse to stop learning new stuff. Like muscles, it’s a “Use it or Lose It” kinda deal with our brains too, so never give up! (I also highly recommend daily puzzles like Crosswords and Jumbles and Word Searches. I am positive that they’ve helped keep my mind active, too.

  5. Great quote, and so true! As a teacher, I cannot tell you how many times I have tried to help a student who truly has no desire to learn, and I get nowhere. It’s very frustrating. On the other end, I have students who are really low in their reading skills and they are determined to absorb everything I teach them, and they make huge advances in their reading skills. It’s one of the reasons it frustrates me that teachers are judged based on how students score on a test. A teacher can be excellent at what he/she does, but if a child doesn’t want to learn, he/she isn’t going to learn.

    • I can see you have a real grasp on this concept, Yvette. And I would HOPE that if the majority of your students do well on their tests, those who monitor such things would be able to figure out that some issues are related to a particular student’s desire to learn rather than some failure on your part.

  8. I love your quote, Marcia. I don’t know about my brain, but I’ve been driven to understand/learn since I was a kid. My parents bought a set of encyclopedias and I couldn’t stop reading those tomes. Yep…I was always asking why. 💗🤗💗

    • One more thing we have in common, my friend. Even when I was a kid, I’d look up a word in the dictionary, then read every definition on the next 3 or 4 pages before I could close the dictionary and return to whatever I’d been working on. I love learning just for learning’s sake, and love it even more when it concerns things I’m especially interested in, like wildlife and books and writing and, and, and …..
