Hi, Everyone! Just wanted to let it be known that I’ll be gone for several hours tomorrow. For the first time in THREE MONTHS, I’ll be giving a wildlife talk at Enterprise Museum, and I can’t wait! Boy, have I missed chatting with everyone, and sharing some laughs, while talking about our fabulous wildlife down here. Wish me luck. I’ll probably be pretty whipped by the time I get home, but it will be SO worth it to be getting back to the things I love to do! Yay!
Also wanted to thank everyone who has responded to my announcement about taking part in the #TenThingsYouMayNotKnowAboutMe feature here on TWS. I’ve already filled up several dates, but here are the Wednesdays still left open, if you want to join in the fun:
March 30
June 22
July 6 & 20
August 3, 17, & 31
September 14
October 12 & 26
November 29 & 23
December 7 & 21
The rest have been taken or removed due to conflicts with my own schedule, but that still leaves us with 14 Wednesdays from now until year’s end. Would love to have someone scheduled for every one of them, so give it some consideration and let me know if you’d like me to hold one of these days for you. (First-come, first-served basis). I’ll check my emails as soon as I get home tomorrow and get right back to anyone who has contacted me.
Thanks to those who jumped right on this, and to each of you who’s thinking about joining in. It’s gonna be fun!
And now … I’ve got a talk to be ready for, so back to thinking about the celebration of the River of Lakes Heritage Corridor and National Scenic Byway. *goes off mumbling “Alligators and foxes and manatees, oh my!”*
Have a great time! ❤

Thanks so much, Priscilla. I have a bit of stage fright going on tonight, it’s been such a long time. But I know the minute I see the first smiling face walk through the door, I’ll be just fine. Plus, I think they’ll go gentle on me, too, since they know I’ve been laid low for some weeks. Worse comes to worst, I’ll throw myself on their pity if I mess up anything in the talk. Hehehe
I’d like to think this is the first step towards taking back my life again! 😀 ❤

Oh me, too, Jeanne! I’ve missed these chances to share some of what I’ve seen and learned so much! And with some of the nicest groups of folks you’d ever want to spend a couple of hours with. I always come home feeling SO good! They truly inspire me! Can’t wait to see each of their smiling faces tomorrow. (Some of them have become lovely friends over the last few years. And another thing I can’t wait for is to feel comfortable being able to give them hugs when they arrive! I’m sick of bumping elbows or waving from a distance, so I’m really looking forward to that day!)
Thanks for stopping by, Jeanne! Have a great weekend! 😀 ❤

Thanks, Denise. It was a lot of fun, though I’m plenty tired now, for sure. Still … I DID IT! I’m starting to think life will indeed return to normal soon! 😀 Thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

Have fun at the talk. It will energize you! I just did a virtual visit to a school in the UK. What fun.

It really did energize me, Darlene. It was great fun, but now, I’m ready to grab my Kindle and go to bed! Good for you with your virtual visit! That sounds like fun, too! Thanks for stopping by! 😀 ❤

Oooh, me too, Gwen! It would be lovely to see your smiling face in the audience and to hang out afterward! As for my talk, it went better than I expected, and I held up throughout. I was definitely out of practice and felt it showed, but was told that was my imagination. (I think they were being kind, but who am I to argue at that point?) The most important thing is, I DID IT! And I lived to tell the tale. So I’ve taken the first step toward reclaiming my life and getting back to normal. The next one will be easier, I’ll be more relaxed, and we’ll all continue to have fun while learning new stuff!
Up next, a Spring “Meet the Author” Tea, wherein all I have to do is a short reading and a Q&A session, and then just schmooze from table to table. I just love these teas!
Thanks so much for stopping by, Gwen, and who knows? Maybe someday you’ll be vacationing in Florida and we’ll be able to get together at a talk or do lunch or something fun! It could happen! 😀 ❤

Thank you so much, Diana! On all counts. The talk was fun, though I definitely felt out of practice, but no one seemed to notice (or care). And I’m one step closer toward reclaiming my life again, so YAY! And I’m getting a good response from folks who want to take part in the TenThings list, so that’s going great, too! I’m looking forward to showcasing them every other Wednesday throughout the rest of the year! (Still got some spots to fill, folks, so email me!)
And I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, Diana. I’m a bit on the “worn out” side today, which is not unusual for me after a talk. (I put a LOT of energy into them, and almost always need a day off after.) But I have some reading to catch up on, and this might be the day to get started on it. Again, thanks for stopping by, my friend! 😀 ❤

You deserve the recoup time, Marcia. No need to push ourselves. I’m glad the talk went well and that everyone enjoyed it. 😀

Not to worry, Diana. I not only didn’t push myself, I passed out cold in the Comfy Chair for a two-hour nap! (Unheard of for me. I’m not a napper, in general, but on the rare occasion when I do take one, it’s never more than 30 mintues, so I guess I needed it!)
And I think everyone really did enjoy the talk, so I’m super happy to have the first one of 2022 behind me now. Thanks, my friend! 😀 ❤
