Some Screen Shots for Earlier #EditorWars Post

For anyone who are still confused.

After clicking on the Save button in Step 5 of the previous post, you must navigate to the Black Administrator Bar. When there, go to POSTS/ALL Posts, which opens this white page:

Click on the ADD NEW Drop Down Menu, and you get this menu, where you can click on either Block Editor (bad idea) or Classic Editor (Yes!)

Hope this helps some, but if not, let me know and I’ll see what other way I can help make it easier. No one should have to go through what I did yesterday!

  1. I think I could even follow that! I have to confess that part of my delight comes from the fact that I’m aware that Block Editor (Bad Idea) meant that your helping me with a posting took you over two hours. Anything that saves you and others the same pointless toil has to be worth it!

    • If you lived closer to me, (like on the same continent!) I could teach you some basics that would make your life much easier. As long as someone doesn’t come along during the night and screw it all up, that is! And “without so much as a by your leave!” 😀 (Old line from from one of my favorite movies of all time, Last of the Mohicans. Perfectly cast, perfectly filmed, perfectly wonderful. Ahem. Got distracted there. 😀 )

      I thank you for all your support, Trish, and I apologize that the day zipped right by before I sent out those invitations for the beta blog. I promise I’ll get to it tomorrow. I’m off to bed now, worn out from all this sturm und drang. Tell your gals to hang tight. I WILL get it done. 😀 ❤

    • Probably for some, Robbie, but not if you reformat your text to make it easier to read. You can’t do that to the entire post in the Block Editor. You have to reformat each and every paragraph/block separately. On my beta blog, we share entire chapters of our WIPS, and the last one I uploaded had 60 paragraphs in it. I had to manually adjust the font to black, bold, and a larger size for every single one of them, because the default font is hard for me to read. It took me two hours because there’s no way I can find to choose Select ALL and format everything in one go. That’s a HUGE drawback for me.

      I just don’t know why they can’t leave us the choice between the two. I have no problems with others enjoying the Block editor if it works for their purposes, but it just doesn’t work for mine. 😦
