My favorite part of marketing is building a local readership. I’ve shared things about this many times, so many (most?) of you know this. I have this year’s dates scheduled, and know what I’ll be doing for January and February, though the rest are still To Be Announced. (Gotta see how many new slide shows I can put together, and which of my older programs have received requests for “reruns.”) But for those of you in this area, here is what I have so far. So happy to be getting 2020 underway with such fun programs, and a Release Party, of all things! My first, and I’m super excited about it! Hope to see many of you there, and at some of the other programs I’ll be presenting through the year! Happy New Year, folks, and may 2020 be our best year yet!
Quite a schedule, Marcia. Good luck with it all – sorry I’m not likely to turn up at any of them 😦

Me too, Mary! It would be SO much fun to see you walk through that classroom door! 😀 Maybe someday, but in the meantime, I’m happy to know you via social media, and always look forward to seeing you drop in. And the good news is, I think I’ll be resuming more normal blogging activities beginning next week, both here and on my favorite blogs. Like YOURS. I’m feeling much better these days, and while I may have permanently lost my ability to add and subtract, words are back to 95% normal. That suits me fine. I never did like math, anyway. 😀
I’m going to try to share some of my nature talks here on the blog this year, if I can find a good way to set them up, so maybe that will allow you to enjoy the topics, at least, and learn a bit more about our central Florida habitats. We’ll see how that goes! 😀 ❤

Glad you are feeling so much better, Marcia. You’re right – we don’t need numbers if we have words. I dread the day they test me for dementia and ask me to count backwards from 100 in sevens – never been able to do that. My son assures me they’ll take number dyslecia in account and give me words to spell instead (probably backwards).
Great idea to put some of your lectures on your blog, even if it’s an abbreviated version.
I’ve sent you some ‘virtual’ Scottish tablet by email.

I can barely count backwards by ONES, and that was before I whacked my head! 😯 Sevens are RIGHT out! 😀 I received your virtual tablet and can only imagine how delicious it must be. It LOOKS divine! Thanks! Cooking’s not really my thing, though I can do a passable meal when I need to. But gardening is more my style. I’ll have to send you some virtual roses! 😀 ❤

Looks like you are back in the swing of things. What a great line up! 2020 will be a super year for you.

I do hope I haven’t been a bit too ambitious. I can be a glutton for punishment now and then. 🙂 But I’m looking forward to doing these talks, AND to writing at my “old” pace again. Next up: The Emissary 3! Looking forward to that and more in 2020. Hope it’s a good year for ALL of us! 🙂 ❤

That’s so nice to hear, Darlene! I’ll be starting it soon, and I hope it goes as quickly as the first two did. Then I can combine the three into a print book, too. And honestly, I’ve rather missed Jake, Dodger, and my favorite archangel, Azrael. I can’t wait to find out what they’ve been up to! 😀 ❤

You put my organisation skills to shame, Marcia… Happy New and busy Year!

I think I may not have been in my right mind when I scheduled all of these events, Jaye. Gulp. Now to figure out a way to make them all happen and still have time to WRITE. But honestly, I love doing them so much, I can’t resist! So I’ll have to budget my time accordingly. Happily, I can use the same programs at both locales, so that helps somewhat. 😀
Happy New Year to you, too! Here’s hoping 2020 is a great one!! 🙂 ❤

Thanks for sharing, Don! As always, it’s greatly appreciated. Now, when are YOU going to drive down for a visit? I have folks coming to the Book Release party from Tampa and Kissimmee, so it really wouldn’t be too much farther for you. Just sayin’ …. 😀 😀 😀

That would be fun. I’ll have to check my schedule.

I hope you’ll be able to come one of these Saturdays! Let me know. Also, since I haven’t yet decided what I’ll be talking about beyond February, let me know if you have a topic that’s a favorite. I’ll see if I can make it happen when you might be available. 😀

Thanks, Robbie. To be fair, both of these venues are very popular with speakers in the area, so I get with the folks in charge early to pick some dates that will work for them, and for me. Luckily, they are always very welcoming to me. I hope I won’t let them down this year. Will be trying to do a mix of new programs and older reruns. Those give folks who missed them the first time around a chance to take a look. I swore I wasn’t going to book quite as many this year, but somehow, I did. 😯 Now to make good on them all! 😀

Thanks, Deb! Healthy would be good, for sure! 😀 And yep, crazy busy, I think, but then again, that’s better than idling around doing nothing. At least it is in my book. Here’s to a happy and prosperous New Year for you, as well, Deb! Roll on, 2020! 😀 ❤

Thanks so much, Bette! I’m excited about all these upcoming events, and a tiny bit worried. Here’s hoping I haven’t been too optimistic about what I can handle! But mostly, I’m just looking forward to seeing folks again and sharing some fun tidbits with them. 🙂 ❤

Sounds like an awesome year ahead, Marcia! 🙂 I’ve just booked Poetry Class for a homeschool group in my area and am so excited. Also sending email updates on MY MAINE to all Maine Libraries since 2020 is our Bicentennial year… Have a signing scheduled for April and hope to book poetry presentations with local libraries. Now that you’ve inspired me, I feel like I’m on a roll… 2020 Blessings, my friend! ❤

Oooh, I’m so happy I inspired you to start doing these events, Bette! They are such fun, and I really think that, in addition to garnering more name recognition, meeting the public is good for us personally and as writers. SO glad you are making this happen, and I wish you great success and pleasure out of each event! 🙂 ❤
