Just wanted to touch base with you guys and let you know that I’ve been feeling better for the last 3 days than I’ve felt since I fell. I’m hopeful this is a trend that will continue, and I’m going to do my best to get this week’s normal features back up and running. Bear with me if I fall short of that, but I’m optimistic!Β And thank you ALL so much for your kind words and support. I appreciate it more than you know!
Also today, I want to share another guest post I did over two years ago on Sue Vincent’s Daily EchoΒ blog. Yes, I know that’s two in a row, but this post is one that means a lot to me, and I like to think it will inspire a few of you who are sitting on the fence about pursuing your dreams of writing–or of anything else you’ve put off for too long. I hope you’ll take a minute and check out the following link. And as always, feel free to share with the Immediate World. πΒ
Glad you are feeling a bit better, Marcia!
This was such an inspiring post! I am glad you shared it again here.

I was very happy to share it again, Sue. It’s a topic that means a lot to me, and I’d like to think it could make a difference in someone else’s life, too, at least now and then. I really enjoyed being a guest on your blog, and I’m truly hoping to get caught up enough that I’ll soon be able to follow both yours and my other favorite blogs again. I’ve missed keeping up with them! Thanks for having given me a chance to share my thoughts on your Daily Echo! π β€

Thank you, Sue. That’s just what I was aiming for when I wrote it. And I’ll be hoping to share some posts when WRR4 comes out in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can do a guest post then, as part of that. Thanks for the offer, no matter what! π β€

Thanks, Jeanne. Not being able to do what I want, when I want, is making me very unhappy. I’m trying to stay positive, though, and I do think I’m finally seeing some improvement. Still using the cane, as my balance isn’t as stable as I’d like, but even that’s improving. So. Baby steps, yes, but moving forward just the same. π β€

Pleased to hear you are feeling better. I enjoyed the post the first time and enjoyed it again as it is exactly how I feel. It is never too late! I just returned from a busy book tour in Canada. Many have said when are you going to slow down? Plenty of time to slow down when you’re six feet under.

Thanks, Darlene! And you and I see this issue exactly the same. Rocking chair, schmocking chair! I’ve got places to go, people to meet, and stories to tell. Not ready to slow down yet, and enforced inactivity is getting OLD very quickly!
I hope your book tour was everything you wanted it to be. I’ve seen some pics going by on my Facebook feed, and you looked like you were having a very good time! That’s SUPER!! π β€

Thanks so much, Robbie! A little more each day! Won’t be long before I’ll be doing cartwheels throughout the house. Oh, wait. I couldn’t do cartwheels BEFORE the fall, so maybe not. But I’ll at least be able to get back on a schedule of writing and blogging that suits me. π β€

Hehe, if you manage the cartwheels, do share a post.

Thanks so much, John! Baby steps, still, but more and more of them. π Progress! Can’t wait for this to be history, and life to be at least fairly well on track again. π I’ve got STORIES to tell! π

Thanks, Bette! The post on it never being too late to follow a dream is one that’s near and dear to my heart. I try to say something about the subject at every talk I give. Too many people reach a certain age and think their dreams will never come true. Often, probably MOST of the time, they still can, but they won’t know unless they try. π Glad you enjoyed it! π

I’ve been too busy and somehow missed the fall, but am glad to know that you are now on the upswing. And of course excited about another Rabbit book. I enjoyed your poem at Sue’s place. Gotta go for it.

Thanks, D. (I hope you had time to read more than the poem? That was just the intro.) And you’re probably glad you missed all the sturm und drang. It was a serious fall that we feared had fractured my skull. An afternoon at the ER & lots of tests and scans, and signs to watch for brain bleeds, and it seems to have been “merely” a baseball-sized lump on the back of my head. It has impacted my balance and concentration, but both are improving. Who knew concussions could take SIX WEEKS to heal? The good news is, I’m definitely doing better each day, though I’ll be using a cane until my balance returns to normal. I am NOT planning on a repeat performance if I can help it. There. Now you’re all caught up! π

My plan, exactly, though after my visit with my doctor yesterday, I’ve had to accept it’s going to take longer than I hoped, and require me to do the most difficult thing I know: be patient. *sigh* But I’m still HERE, and still incredibly lucky my head’s in ONE piece, so I’m convinced perseverance will prevail! And I WILL be writing more books. Just probably not at the rate of two a year. π I suspect in one of them, someone is going to deal with a concussion, though. What good’s an experience like this if I can’t write about it?

That was a perfect post! Thank you so much for sharing it! I needed that since I just self-published my first book -and am working on my second and third as I speak. Your story is inspiring! Thank you!

So glad you enjoyed the post and that it may have given you a boost in confidence. It’s something I try to share whenever the opportunity presents itself, because so many people, especially those a bit older, either put off their dreams or think it’s too late to follow them.
Good luck with your new book, and here’s to learning more and more with each one you publish. You’ll always be glad you went for it! π
