Happy Halloween, Everyone!
Since I’m still not quite ready for Prime Time, as they say, I’m going to share a link with you that was posted on Sue Vincent’s Daily Echo blog a bit over a year ago, when she was doing a feature on Living Lore. It’s an excerpt from Wake-Robin Ridge Book 4: The Light, which I’m wrapping up today, if all goes well. (A big “if” lately.) The tale of Boojum and Hootin’ Annie is part of Appalachian folk lore, and I hope you’ll enjoy hearing Rabbit’s version, as told to his dad while carving pumpkins. Here’s the link to the post as it appeared on Sue’s terrific blog. Check it out and share, if you like. And Happy Halloween!

Glad you enjoyed it, China. Rabbit’s been a wonderful character to write about, and has held center stage in 3 out of 4 Wake-Robin Ridge books. 🙂

Aw, thanks, Mae! I’m more than halfway finished with the last chapter, and HOPE to have the epilogue done tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I’m planning to wrap up the series on this one, but I DO think there will be a spinoff series of novellas entitled Cole, Cole, & Dupree. You’ll have to read the book to get more info on that, though. 😀 Hopefully, The Light will be available in a couple more weeks. ❤

Happy Halloween, Marcia. Will you get little trick or treaters to your home? I enjoyed the excerpt once again.

Thanks, Darlene. It seemed appropriate for today. 😀 We usually don’t get but a few trick or treaters at the door, but every now and then, we get a bumper crop. So, it’s anybody’s guess how many will come along tonight. I told Mark to be sure to pick up candy HE likes, in case there’s a lot left over. (I can’t eat it, so he may as well get what he’ll enjoy finishing off.) 🙂 ❤

If I told Paul that, he would buy all Kit Kats!!

Not a bad choice, though if I could eat candy again, I’d be leaning toward dark chocolate truffles. Mark is fond of M&Ms and peanut butter cups. Oh, and Hershey’s kisses. But I’m not even going to LOOK at the bowl of candy this year! 🙂

Oddly enough, Marcia, I’ll be linking to this myself on Saturday as I just set up another request or ‘Living Lore’ posts 🙂
Feel better fast.

Thanks so much, Sue. I’m workin’ on it. And wow, what a nice coincidence. I really enjoyed those Living Lore posts, and being part of them. It was fun sharing it here again today, especially since I haven’t the wits or energy to come up with new posts. This was a good one to recycle! So glad you let me take part in your Living Lore series the first time around, and I’ll be sure to check the new ones coming up. 🙂 ❤

Thanks, Sue. I’ll give it a shot if I can unscramble my brains a bit. I do have a few more interesting and spooky legends I might be able to share. 🙂

Thanks so much, Kass, for being so eager and for sharing, both! 😀 I’m glad you are excited. All I can think about is how LOOOOONG I’ve been working on this one. I’m very eager to wrap it up, before my local readers turn on me! 😀 I’ve had another slow day, but I’m getting closer and closer. ❤ ❤ ❤

You have to take care of yourself, first and foremost. We’ll wait, impatiently but we’ll wait. 😀

Aw, thanks, Kass! I’m doing my best to be careful. Just got an around the neck lanyard for my iPhone, too, so next time I find myself flat on the floor, I won’t have to crawl to get it and call for help! It’s my “Help, I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up” phone, now! 😀 😀 😀
Seriously, I’m making progress. It’s just a much slower process than I realized. But I’m here! And I’m writing! So, I’m SMILING, too! 😀 (See?)

I hope you’ll enjoy it if you do, Joan. Rabbit seems to be everyone’s favorite character, and he’s been a ton of fun to write. I was hoping to finish the last chapter today, but I was moving slow again. I’m about 3/4 of the way done, with it, though, so good progress! 🙂 Hope you enjoy reading about Boojum and Hootin’ Annie. Pure Appalachian folk tale! 😀 ❤
