Still Running Behind but Sharing A Great Link, and Wishing You All A Happy Halloween!

I know I keep saying I’m getting better, and I honestly think I am, but I’m nowhere near back to where I want to be. I’m trying to stick to doctor’s orders and not push myself, even though it’s hard for me to slow down. I’m sorry to say, though, I’m still not ready to get back to our normal routine here on The Write Stuff, for which I apologize heartily! No #ShareAReview for today, though I’ve got one scheduled for next Tuesday, so stay tuned for that. And I HOPE to have a #FirstLineFriday this week, if all goes well. It will be extra fun, because our friend Harmony Kent is offering one of her books as an additional prize choice. Fingers crossed I can get it put together in time, so I don’t have to bump that one another week, too.

This morning did get off to a great start when my good friend from Wales, Trish the Trout, alerted me to a super post about everyone’s favorite reviewer, Rosie Amber. Most of you are probably familiar with Rosie and her fantastic blog, where she hosts book reviews from a whole team of folks. I’ve followed Rosie Amber for a long time, though I’m way behind these days on visits to all of my favorite blogs. Today’s post on Jennifer Alderson’s  blog is filled with lots of great info about Rosie, her Book Review Team, and more. And as a lovely surprise, guess who I found mentioned in her answer to “Who Would You Like to Sit Next to on a Long Flight? Well, I’ll let you scroll down and see for yourself. 😀 All I can say is, “Rosie, Dear Heart–I’m packed and ready to go when you are!”

Here’s that link again: RIGHT HERE! 😀

Such a treat, and such a boost to my day! These last three weeks, I’ve needed all the boosts I can get, and it’s amazing how many of them I find from my online friends! You guys ALL rock!!!

Here’s wishing each of you a wonderful, productive day, and remember: DO NOT FALL DOWN! Been there, done that, and don’t recommend it for anyone! 😀

    • Thanks, Olga. I think things are improving, though I’m still moving very slowly, and with the aid of a quad cane to help me with my balance. DOH. But I expect to recover completely over time. I’ve got too many things I want to accomplish to keep wandering around at half speed. 😀 ❤

Couldn't agree more about Rosie! ❤

    • Thanks, Jeanne! That’s what I’m trying to do, even if it’s hard for me to remember to go slow! 🙂 Hopefully, it won’t be too much longer before I see a major different in my energy level and my balance. 🙂

  1. Haha! I am sure the flight would never be boring with you! Wish I could do that with you, actually. Think of all the book and Pendergast discussions we’d have.:)

Take each day at a time and feel better. I owe you an email!

    • Thanks, Mary. I’m trying, but in the middle of every day, I have these “rolling” dizzy spells that don’t seem related to either blood sugar levels OR blood pressure. They can also be residual symptoms of concussion. I’ll see my doctor in a couple of days and hopefully find out then. (If they get worse, I’ll seek help sooner. For now I tend to sit down and wait them out. Once the episode stops, I’m okay, though tired.)

And you’re welcome for the link. It was really a lovely interview, wasn’t it? (Even without the lovely, and totally unexpected shout out to me.) I’d like to follow Jennifer’s blog, but couldn’t find a way to do so. I signed up for her newsletter, though. Maybe by the time the next one comes out, I’ll be getting closer to my old energy level! 😀 Fingers crossed!

Thanks for stopping by, and so sorry I’ve been MIA on your blog, along with so many others, including my own! Better days are comin’! That’s my story, an’ … well, you know the rest! 😀 ❤

    • Aw, thanks, Joan! That would be fun, wouldn’t it? We’d have a good time, I’m sure. And thanks for the well wishes, too. I’m getting tired of all this dragging around. 😀 Looking forward to getting some pep back! 🙂 ❤

    • Thanks, Robbie. And from what I’ve read, six weeks is about right for a concussion to heal completely, and the residual effects to wear off. I’m just at 3, so I guess I have a bit to go, yet. I haven’t given up on scheduling #firstLineFriday for this week, but the chances are dwindling, I’m afraid. I just don’t have much stamina right now. I’ll do my best, though. And if not THIS Friday, then NEXT Friday for sure! See you then. 🙂 ❤

  2. I haven’t found anything yet that has made me slow down, and I probably shouldn’t have said that, for things do try to get me!
Dizzy spells are awful and make everything difficult, so you could try to sleep through the worst of them!

    • I wasn’t expecting to get slowed down either, Jaye, but I discovered that a blow to the head that leaves a lump the size of a baseball can pretty much sap every bit of strength you’ve got. Not to mention those residual dizzy spells that I’m still having. Heck, I’m using a quad cane now just to help with my balance until this gets better. Boy, I never pictured me using a cane, yet. 😦 Oh, well. ANYTHING beats falling like I did three weeks ago. Sometimes, it feels like it’s NEVER going to get better, but I refuse to believe that! 🙂 ❤ Sleep has been difficult for me for years, so I doubt that's the answer in my case. Just getting WELL would make me pretty happy, though. 🙂

    • Trying to do all those things, Diana! I know it’s not uncommon for concussions to take up to six weeks or so to heal completely. I’m on week 3. The hardest part is the “relaxing” bit, as I’m used to being on the go all the time. The second hardest is trying very hard NOT to fall again, since I have recurring dizzy spells going on. BUT. I am determined to get through this and feel GOOD again! I have too many things to do and enjoy to let this hold me back much longer.

I’ll get an update from my doctor Tuesday, and we’ll see how things stand then. 😀 Thanks for your sound advice, and Happy Halloween to you, too! 🙂 ❤
