Good Morning & An Update

(For Mae)

Happy Freya’s Day, Everyone! (Okay, Friday is actually named for the Norse goddess Frigg, but Freya and Frigg are considered by most to be the same goddess. That being the case, I’m going with Freya, because, you know. It sounds nicer. 😉

At any rate, I hope your day is a good, productive one with plenty of smiles.

As you may have noticed, I don’t have things back on my preferred schedule quite yet, and I apologize for that. The truth is, I’m still not feeling 100% after my fall of two weeks ago. I’m vastly improved, for sure, but I’m still suffering some recurrent dizziness and fatigue. This isn’t uncommon when you’ve received a concussion and can continue for several weeks before finally disappearing. And while the ER doctor said he didn’t THINK I had a concussion, he also told me to watch for the signs of one. (Along with the signs of brain bleeds and swelling, and various other things. I spent a lot of time watching, believe me.) Bottom line is, concussions are often missed, and based on the types of symptoms I have going on right now, it appears I’m still recovering from one. Frankly, I’m just grateful I’m not still recovering from a fractured skull.

And all of this is by way of telling you that, as you’ve no doubt noticed, #FirstLineFriday has been put off for another week, due to a couple of bad days Tuesday and Wednesday that pushed me even farther behind on my overall work schedule. But NOT to fear! I am much better than I was, and I know I’ll be catching up soon. I’m just trying to do what my  doctor suggests and not push too hard, though it’s against my nature to be idle very long. So, I work a bit, and then I rest a bit, and by and by, I expect the time spent working to increase until life is once again as normal as it gets around here.

Thanks so much for your patience and your well wishes, and all the kind things everyone has sent me. I appreciate each and every one of you more than you can imagine! Will be resuming my usual blog features, etc, one at a time until all is running smoothly again, which I hope won’t be too much longer.

And now we’ve come full circle: Happy Freya’s Day, Everyone! 😀 ❤

    • Oh, that sounds like fun, Bill! Will check out the link later, for sure, and when your work appears, be sure to let us know, so we can all take a look. 🙂 (See, I knew going with Happy Freya’s Day was the better choice.) 😀

    • Thank you, Patt! I’m doing my best to catch up on everything, but I haven’t yet finalized which talks I’m doing on which dates! However, I do have the actual dates locked in. I shall post those in a few minutes, in case anyone else in this area is interested. Stay tuned. (Looking forward to seeing you at some of them!) 🙂 ❤

  2. I noticed your silence this past week and was worried you might have suffered a setback. I’m glad you’re listening to doctor’s order and just taking things slow, You have been in my daily prayers.Take your time and heal. You have been missed!

    • Thank you so much, Mae. It distresses me no end when I can’t do everything I want each day, but I’m trying to let go of that mindset, and just take things slow and easy. Tuesday and Wednesday were my worst days this week. Yesterday was a wee improvement, and today a bit more, so that’s the right direction, anyway. 😀 Thank you so much for keeping me in your prayers! It means a great deal to me! And with all you have on your plate, I’m amazed you’ve had time to miss me. GLAD, but amazed. 😀 I’ve missed being in contact with you and my other online friends, too. Soooooon, my precious! Soooooon. 😀 😀 😀

      • Eve when you’re not at your best, you manage to include humor in your post. This made me grin, and brought a warm feeling, my friend. I sent you a catch-up email. And you know how my account is acting up. I have my fingers crossed you get it!

    • Thanks, Bette. In a few more days (or maybe a week or two), I’ll be able to dance with you! We can find all sorts of things to celebrate, and I’ll join right in. Oh, wait. I wasn’t doing so hot at dancing BEFORE I fell. Maybe I’ll just clap hands in time with the music and cheer you on! 😀 😀 😀

Thanks, though, for the blessings and love. Both are HUGELY appreciated, and I promise, I’m doing everything I can to get better. ❤

    • Thanks, Trish. I’m being very good and following doctor’s orders. I do NOT want to risk another fall–or my “sparkling status”–for sure! 😀 Thanks for your encouragement.

BTW, are you receiving alerts from the beta blog? I rewrote CH 32 yesterday and hope to post it today. And yes, there will be a CH 33, though it won’t be a long one. Just want to be sure everyone got my last message. Thanks. 🙂

    • I understand backlogs completely. Don’t worry! It’s just that I posted what was supposed to be the last chapter, and no one responded in 5 or 6 hours, then I took it down, and posted a quick note saying I had decided to make changes, but I haven’t heard back from that, either. So I got worried, because now and then posts on that blog don’t seem to reach everyone. No damage done, just seeing if you knew if it had gone out. (My copies did come to me, but don’t know about others.)

Glad you’re back in action today, 🙂 ❤

    • I’m sort of forced to slow down a bit, as I’m still having balance issues. I’ve had to resort to a cane, which I HOPE I won’t need much longer. But I’ll use it as long as I have to, and walk slowly, too. Anything is better than falling like that again! 😯

I’m about to put up a post about this week’s schedule, too, as I’m still behind. *sigh* I want to be back at 100%. Well, 100% of 75%, which is the new normal at my age, I guess. 😀 😀 😀
