Hope those of you in the central Florida area will join us on Saturday, February 9, at 11:00am for our first Tea & Catered Lunch of the year. DeBary Historic Manor is a beautiful site, simply perfect for tea in the parlor. Your reservation will include a yummy catered luncheon with an array of my custom blended teas (including Sarah’s Favorite Earl Grey, Gunnar’s Assam Blend, and my favorite, Willow’s Potpourri Garden, among others.)

Also included, a reading , a Question and Answer Session, and a signed copy of one of my books, your choice. Plus–as if all of that isn’t enough–lots and lots of fun and laughter among friends new and old.

    • Feeling pretty close to normal. Still looking like I slid down a gravel road on my nose! But the event’s 2-1/2 weeks away, so I’m hoping I’ll at least be able to use corrective make-up by then, and not put anyone off their tea. 😯 😀 Seriously, I think I’ll be far enough along in the healing process to be able to venture out in public again. I’m missing my friends and readers, and making new ones, too. Can’t wait for this tea! 😀 Wish you could be here in person as well as spirit, too! 🙂 ❤

    • It has a wonderful history, too. They give a terrific tour (dressed in period costume) and have a theater where they have a really well-done slide show, with several screens, and revolving seats. 🙂 It was one of my favorite places to visit before I started writing, and I’m so glad they keep inviting me back to do various kinds of presentations now. It’s a perfect venue.

      DeBary Hall and the 1930’s era schoolhouse that is now the Enterprise Museum are my two favorite public venues, for sure. Both are lovely in very different ways, and are staffed by terrific folks. 😀

  4. OMG! Antebellum mansions in the deep south are just about one of my favourite things! I love the history of those grand old places, the Spanish moss draped all over the trees, the honeysuckle in the air. When I next get across to the states I’ll have to look this one up… and maybe you’ll be having another reading somewhere equally as fabulous!

    • “Frederick DeBary was a wine importer for Mumms Champagne and built DeBary Hall in 1871 as his hunting retreat along the St. John’s River in central Florida. The area offered various leisure activities such as swimming in the local springs, fishing, and hunting quail, deer, and alligator.”

      DeBary Hall is owned by the state now, and it’s a lovely place to visit. This past Christmas, they had 19 Christmas trees throughout the rooms, and it was a treat to be hosting a tea there. Yes, you have to see it one of these days. It’s the real deal, and has the history to prove it. I promise you a reading if you make it! 😀

    • Thanks, Mae. These are such a treat to do. Almost no work for me, except schlepping my books and give-aways inside, to put out on the table. I just show up, have fun with everyone, eat & drink & be merry. A reading is certainly easy & quick, and I’ll talk books with fellow readers all day long. I think I’m going to make up a few questions this time, just to pull in the guests a bit more. But that’s it. (Whereas PowerPoint presentations take hours and hours to put together all the facts and images.) Wish you could come! 😀 ❤

    • Thanks, Staci. I am improving daily, and my skin is healing. By the 9th, I think I’ll be able to cover any remaining redness with make-up, and be good to go. Thank heavens! I’ve really missed doing these! 🙂
